I recently got a great job opportunity. I am now working a Warmline through a local drop-in center for people with mental health and substance issues. I also sometimes staff the center. Anyhow, that means I get to use my peer support training I had a few months ago. I get to help people discover their own solutions. They know what they want. You just have to get them to realize it. You empower them instead of telling them what to do. I really love it because it gives me a purpose and a way to help people. I am naturally an encouraging person. This job plays upon my strengths. I am learning about myself, as well. I am gaining insight as to how to be a better version of myself. I have numerous mental health diagnoses, but I am doing much better now. I am in a good place in my life, without a doubt. My hubby is very pleased with the progress I am making in my life, and I am excited for the future!

At this time I'm not employed, so instead I dedicate time to learn a trade. Of all things its automotive. So far my studies are shallow end with some background experience to addes to try and stand out.
Cars aren't complicated, they require much less maintenance and are far more reliable than some people. Besides it means I get to play (work) with tools and get dirty. I intend on being the best at this, it'll be consolation for other shortcomings in life. For the record...I hate cars, I want them to suffer. Who says bliss has to be a positive?
Nothing wrong with learning a trade! That's an awesome field to go into.

I see now I'll be enjoying the process of learning, than the actual job. My youngest brother also studied and worked this line. He tells me it can mean long waits and hours or periods of lean days. Its a dirty job as well, dealing with fluids, dust and physical hazards.
But hey, I hate cars. And making them run another 100,000 miles is in my opinion prolonging their suffering.
I like my job. So far I've liked all the jobs I've had in my life, though some were better than others.
I'm probably too easily pleased? Or I've just had great jobs. Maybe both.
My current job is one I've had for over 20 years. It's in software development.
first, love the name! It's impressive to me to be in a job for so long - what do you like most about it?
My contribution since I don't want to make a second post and spam -
I work as a project coordinator in a growing construction company with amazing people and have learned a wealth of new things in my short time here. I'm respected despite my age, and I have a good future here, so I'm happy.
What I like most about my job is my immediate group of co-workers, who are all very smart and hard working and each good at something different so we synergize really well.
Second most, I like the immediate gratification of a short development cycle. What I work on one week is live on the web about four weeks later at the longest. So it's a fast cycle of making things and seeing the things I made in action.
