Why are Quentin's amulets worth so much?

I'm just curious. I'm a newer player, and I've noticed that the elemental amulets I get from Quentin's quests are worth more than pretty much any other item I get. What are they used for and why is the price for them so high?
If you plan on getting into battling, I'd suggest keeping them for later down the line. There is a mage in Shadowglen who is looking for them: https://subeta.net/explore/mage.php As a reward, there is a chance that he can give out tomes which raise a pet's stats. However, this is mostly useful if the pet is high tier since at some point it gets harder to come by stats easily.

If you find no use for the amulets, occasionally users will post in the Advertising: Wanted forum looking to buy or trade for them in bulk! There are a few of those threads active right now.
If you’re new - just sell them. The money you’ll earn will take you much farther than the few tomes you’ll get that you shouldn’t use until much, much later on

and both had good advise depending on what your goals are here on Subeta. If you want the stat boost be sure you choose the USE option for the item or if you want to you can just read them to your pet but that won't give you the stat boost.
If you take 's advise and take them to the Mage to exchange. He will give you either the tome or shard of the same element.

The shards do not sell for as much as the tomes but the tomes will sell for A LOT more than the amulets. It seems to me like I have better luck at the mage when I take many amulets at the same time. But generally its around one tome for every 6 or more amulets. I haven't tracked the math so your result could vary and it may just be my imagination but I feel like I have better luck with some elements than others. Keeping that in mind it may be worth it to trade in the amulets even if you don't want tomes. Or as suggested trade them. Some people even use the tomes in prize shops during events because of their value.
The tomes aren't the only stat boosters you can get questing there are also stat boosters from Shinwa. If you check out this thread it has a lot of information about stat boosters.
