so i started a teaching job (got it thru sheer luck bc i have no real qualifications aside from speaking english lmao) and so far i'm only teaching these 2 middle schoolers whose old teacher had to leave and it is?? wild

the two kiddos in my class are basically exactly the same as myself and my bro when we were their age?? and they think i'm the coolest teacher because i play(ed) gta 5 and minecraft asdfghjkl

a lot of the english they know is from gta and whenever i say the word 'wanted' they start laughing and say i'm a criminal they think the word bootleg is the funniest thing one time one said he ate kebab for breakfast and i asked if he was sure about that and he was like oh my god no i meant lunch the other one is scared of birds and said he wants to burn down museums because they're boring i told them i'm half brazilian and was born in brazil and they asked me why and i didn't know how to answer they asked me what would happen if they were to swear during the exam and i said i don't know but i wouldn't recommend trying another time one looked me straight in the eyes and said 'fuck the police' for absolutely no reason

i should also start teaching proper classes with more than 2 students eventually but italy's a mess and nobody knows wtf schools are doing lmao

and peak irony?? almost exactly a year ago i was having breakfast with my best friend who wants to be a physics teacher and i told him that no matter what, teaching is the one thing i never want to do in life no matter how desperate i get funny how money changed that huh asdfghjkl

@ Thespian Congrats! Sounds to me that this is a good teaching experience. Remember that not all students are like this. Try to keep these ones for as long as you can because they seem a good fit for you ;) They also like you, which is also great!

Teaching is also something i can't see myself doing. I was able to explain some English stuff to a Japanese friend of mine, in a way that he understood. keep in mind i'm also not a native, but i use it 99.99% of my time.

Ahh, money. I fucking hate adulting. I just applied for a sales position (at a furniture store) which I said I'd never do sales because I am definitely not a pushy person. But the starting rate was a whopping $20 an hour PLUS commission and my bank account and I could not say no to that. We'll see if they call back. I only applied a couple of days ago. I'll call them Monday.
