So earlier today I downloaded a file, boy was that a mistake apparently it was malware or something. Now we can't open our documents or access any files on our computer, computer is also super laggy. We have a thing called file explorer that usually opens with no problem but when you click it it pauses and then seemingly crashes the desktop and bottom bar for a second and the whole screen goes black. Comes back on in a blink but won't open our files which is kind of important. I ran a scan on malwarebytes it says everything is fine which it certainly isn't. Anyone else have a similar experience and how did you fix it?

Edit: Okay I currently can access files from the documents part of the start menu don't tell me its just the shortcut that got corrupted or something? Is that possible? Should I remove the shortcut and just use the start menu from now on? I'm gonna try that.

Opening everything else seems to be working fine

nevermind I found a way to access documents.
