many of us like to do handicrafts or are looking for cheap alternatives for things that you need in everyday life, but are offered at ridiculously expensive prices in the store ... I thought we'd make a corner where you could post your tips and tricks ... photos would be useful ...

i love to use things for everyday use that they weren't actually intended for, whether a fork becomes a € 0 bow tie or plastic bottles become storage boxes ..:) ... for everyone who shakes their head; try first, then be happy about it ..:) ...

Do you have ink pen marks on your clothes and no matter how much you wash them the ink pen marks never leave? Well now you can change that, get Non Aerosol (hairspray not in an aerosol spray can) Hair Spray. Spray directly on the ink pen mark let set for a few moments, and then wash clothing like you normally would. Check after washing to see if it came out, if not do it again. But I do know red ink pen marks usually have to be done more than once. I am not sure why? I have never had a damage done to clothing from the hairspray.

non aersol hairspray example https://www.walmart.com/ip/TRESemm-TRES-Two-Extra-Firm-Control-Non-Aerosol-Hair-Spray-10-oz/10295611?wpa_bd=&wpa_pg_seller_id=F55CDC31AB754BB68FE0B39041159D63&wpa_ref_id=wpaqs:L0BaXK5AefVrYnfNPAXLjBLLxvHD3E_htxTHUJylpdaldL6qCzRD1sHN5Oq9FyQlgQSJ6odAn4kKNkJmVifRICFoq_4L8ii5D9BSgSIrX7ig7wz-VuY8hOiK0r16wM1CvBgJFhZtSTsnRscSECz0DHHV39Fztxn64NPqotEVBhwFmOOPmOJ-NuZpYh6V_OxPPNLGmfT8gz1Gmlg3BvvGIrS8PiV0icOR2rAFvFYJuotBtX454CLlf0ExTU1xIErtEzGFzDQFEygl0xuBccM3XQ&wpa_tag=&wpa_aux_info=&wpa_pos=1&wpa_plmt=1145x1145_T-C-IG_TI_1-2_HL-INGRID-GRID-NY&wpa_aduid=01832e99-fb33-4167-a728-487078ae8e3f&wpa_pg=search&wpa_pg_id=hair%20spray%20bottle&wpa_st=hair%2Bspray%2Bbottle&wpa_tax=1115193_1071966_1025741_8366049&wpa_bucket=__bkt.[/spoiler]

Your recipe calls for buttermilk? Use 1 cup of milk with 1T vinegar and let it sit out about 2-3 hours. You now have buttermilk!

you have a spot of blood on your clothes no problem. Use any type of hair shampoo. Rub shampoo on spot, it does not have to be a lot. Put small amount and rub good, rinse with water. If there is still a stain repeat, and let set for a few moment. Then throw in clothes washer, check after washer turns off.

Like to keep your copper pots shiny? Mix some table salt with white vinegar to make a thin paste and rub lightly on the tarnished copper. No nasty chemical smell, and it takes the tarnish off lickety-split!

: In recipes that call for buttermilk, Weldon uses dry powdered milk and adds in 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. Glacial Lactic Acid that he obtained from the chemical supply company Frey Scientific. He obtained it as a free sample. Instant buttermilk! Tangy, mmmm...mmmm...goodness. He uses it for his buttermilk pancakes and scones. It's amazing what you can get for free these days. He gets the dry powdered milk from one of the human dairy persons who deliver to the big Skunk and Stoat Inn in trade. I have no idea what Welly trades, but I think it's probably pipeweed.

How To Help Beat The Heat: Ice Cream In A Bag! ( I got this recipe from my Author who did this with all his high school students in Chemistry class.)

350-400 ml milk, or milk analog (like almond milk) 125 ml sugar, or equivalent sugar-free sweetener (like sucralose) 2.5 vanilla or vanillin

Put this is a liter-sized zippered freezer bag, let out all the air and set aside for a moment.

1- to 2 liters of crushed ice (or solid dihydrogen monoxide) 125 ml rock salt ( or crystalline sodium chloride)

Mix this up for 10 seconds and put in a 4 liter zippered freezer bag. Place the bag with the milk and sugar inside the bag with the ice and salt. The idea is that you keep the two mixtures separate, but the milk and sugar is surrounded by ice.

Zip it all up and agitate for about 5 to 10 minutes, until the milk freezes into a smashed potatoes-like consistency. Take the "ice cream" bag out of the ice bag, (dump the ice down the drain) and quickly transfer the ice cream to a bowl and eat! Add chocolate syrup if you like. Eat it quick! Get an Ice Cream Coronary or Ice Cream Headache! Yum! (seriously, it's really good, but it melts quickly.)

You can put your bowl in the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes, but it will freeze HARD.

Yes, I am a role-playing character, but I don’t bite (much.)

Is your microwave looking bad from food splattering all over it? This is my favorite, because it makes it so much easier to clean. Fill any container with 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vinegar, then microwave for 5 minutes. Trying wiping the food particles off the interior of the microwave, if it isnt coming off to good. Do another 5 minutes, and leave the microwave door closed maybe 10 minutes. This should be enough, but if not repeat. FYI if you hate vinegar' smell, maybe have a friend do it for you.

To keep yellow jackets and wasps away from your patio, without spraying harsh and toxic chemicals around the area, you can use fresh cucumbers to ward off these pesky insects. To accomplish this, cut a fresh cucumber into many slices and place them in a single layer on an aluminum pie dish. Put a couple of these plates around your patio to repel yellow jackets and wasps. Cucumbers work as a yellow jacket repellent because the cucumber reacts with the aluminum, giving off a chemical scent, undetectable to humans, that makes the wasps flee.

Peppermint oil is also a great repellent for all kinds of creepy crawlies like flies, spiders and wasps. Non toxic to people and pets.., and it smells nice too!

White vinegar is the go-to in this house;. 1- whiten clothes without bleach? Soak clothes in vinegar before the putting them in the wash. 2- urine on clothes? soak clothes in vinegar before putting them in the wash. 3- want natural fabric softener? Soak a sponge in a jar of white vinegar and gently squeeze some of the vinegar out of the sponge (damp is preferred over soaking; depending on what's drying); toss the sponge in the dryer (Makes a everything softer without a perfume scent) 4- dyeing yarn? use vinegar as a mordant; unless using the self-packs of Kool-Aid, mordant isn't really needed.

Sugar-free Kool-Aid packs: can be used as hair dye. Lasts about 3ish weeks

pet bottles, cut off the top, can act as containers, I have them everywhere in the flat

these small rings with which you can open cans are pulled over clothes hangers, so many hangers can be hung one below the other, depending on how much space is down, so you can save a lot of space
