I've handed in two amulets, is it really worth it? I've only gotten those defence shard thingos

It is possible to get more valuable items - I'm not totally sure on the percentage but for me it feels like more often than not I get the shards, which are practically worth nothing. Personally, I usually just sell the amulets and take what I can get! lol@Shaman

your odds of getting a Tome instead of a Shard is around one in six. Tomes sell for more than six times the selling price for Mage Ams, but not a lot more. If the gambling amuses you turn them in, if not sell them as suggests.

a Tome is a book you can Read your pet, and it can also be a stat-booster for one pet if Used. When Read it adds one to your INT and adds that book to your Books Read, when Used it randomly adds from 1-3 to all stats of that one pet including INT, which is very good as boosters go.
