I haven't signed in in some time and just overall have been having a bad few months in real life. Thought I would get away and come back to play to get my mind off of things and all my pets names have changed except Gussie. I owned, Strix, Moby, Beulah, Keepsake, and Beverley. Now they all have an underscore and random three number sequence after their name. I know its pathetic of me but with everything in real life going on I'm about to cry and don't understand what happened. Could someone please tell me what happened? Is this normal?

When an account is inactive for a long time, the names become available to take. If those names are taken by someone, then they get an underscore and a series of numbers.

this only happens over a year of not logging in to Subeta, so it's not a few months. If it genuinely has been less than that then it is a bug and you should file a ticket in Help.

It used to be if you were gone for a long time your whole account was deleted. This no longer happens. Your username and your petnames were up for grabs though. You get a free re-name on your pets if you want, but unless whoever took your petnames has changed their names again or themselves gone inactive, you will not be getting the same petnames back.

I'm sorry, I wasnt aware. I have been gone over a year, I just have had a really bad last few months and thought of coming back. Honestly maybe it was just for the best I stayed away. Things have just been really upsetting for me and this just added to it today. Everything is just breaking me now in every which way game/real life. I know it's just a game but it's one of the few things I like to do here and there when I'm having a rough time.

As said, we're expecting some changes soon in the naming-of-pets realm. We don't know yet how they plan on implementing it, but it seems like we will be going to non-unique names soon, which means more than one person can own a pet named Strix, Moby, etc. So you might want to wait just a little longer. :)

Also, whenever someone takes your names, you get a free name change. You do not need to pay to change your names now. So if you think of different names you'd like to change them to, you are free to do that as well.
