Hey there, fellow Subetans! My boyfriend and I recently found a house to move into together, but one of the biggest things we need right now are blinds and/or curtains. Priority is blinds, though curtains wouldn't be a bad alternative/addition. We're trying to stick to a super tight budget while also not completely cheaping out, if that makes sense?
I think we need like... 13-14 blinds or something like that? Does anyone have any tips on where to get good deals on something that is at least okay quality so we don't have to use as much aluminum foil and painter's tape? :P Most of our windows I think are 38 (or 36) inches, with one or two exceptions.
Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Hun I'm gonna say get blinds for the windows you -really- need them on amd curtains for the others. You can over time get more blinds and always have the curtains on standby or accent status. I have found amazing deals in clearance for curtains, even some brand new at thrift shops.
FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
Iโd check places like IKEA, Target, or Wal-Mart for cheap curtains or as mentioned clearance.
As for blinds I know that basic white vinyl blinds can be pretty cheap at places like Home Depot or Loweโs. For the rental house we own up in the OC area of So-Cal we were able to get basic white vinyl blinds for roughly about 10-11 or so per blinds set at Loweโs. Iโd still go in store to see if any are available though if you can but Home Depot has delivery through their website too if you canโt go in store.
Oh! I didn't think to try at thrift stores. Thanks for the suggestion! And we have a few curtains on standby. We're still trying to just get stuff moved over and haven't spent too much time on the windows yet. ^^; I think this weekend we're planning on doing some more heavy moving though, so I'll bring up hitting up some thrift stores then.
We did check Target and Walmart -- haven't been to an IKEA yet though --and apparently blinds and curtains are a hot item right now, as both places we looked last weekend had very little in stock, and what was in stock was either not the size we needed or was $30+ for a single curtain/blind and we were like... yeahhhhh nah we'll just wait lol. I guess I hadn't thought of Home Depot or Lowe's, either. I don't know if I've ever been in either of those to be honest ^^; Thanks for the suggestions!
