I'm feeling that the Mage is kind of BS. I've noticed it's not a 1:6 ratio. I did 7 today and I didn't get a single tome. Is it supposed to be 1:6 or is it "try you're luck"? I feel it needs to be fixed to a 1:6 ratio.

Its random. The 1 in 6 is an average from people who've done a lot of them. Sometimes you get more, sometimes less.

I like the randomness, but feel free to make a suggestion board :)

I did 2000 amulets the other day and got 1 in 6.2

Sometimes you’ll get 7 tomes in a row, sometimes none for 40 amulets straight. That’s how odds work. It’s def 1 in 6.

MaYbe it’s just me because I just started turning in my amulets.

Take a standard dice. Each side has an equal 16.6% chance of appearing, aka, 1 in 6. Roll it six times : you may surprised to see not all sides appeared at least once. Maybe one side appeared twice, or three times. But roll it a high number of times (>1000) and you’ll see each side has a 1/6 chance of appearing.

Mage amulets and tomes work the same. You’re not guaranteed to get one tome every six amulets, or you could be lucky and get more than that. I wouldn’t suggest relying on tome making for profit or boosting unless you can afford a large amount.

I just went and turned in 200 amulets. I did 20 of each flavor/icon. I ended up getting 33 tomes, so that pretty much breaks down to a 1 in 6 chance. Here is what each "flavor" broke down to:

Tome of Darkness (1) Tome of Death (2) Tome of Earth (5) Tome of Fire (4) Tome of Ice (3) Tome of Life (5) Tome of Light (6) Tome of Magma (3) Tome of Water (2) Tome of Wind (2)

I only got one from turning in 20 dark amulets, but others I ended up with more than average. I have turned in a ton of amulets in all my years and it really does end up being right around the 1:6 of getting a tome.

I have always kind of waited to turn mine in until I get a nice little stock pile. I think that helps to see the average better. Best of luck to you when turning yours in. :)

I just hoard what I get from Quentin. Amulets are way too expensive to use as boosters. Thank you for the analogy!

I'm gonna keep hoarding. I don't have any amulets right now, but thank you for showing me a count. I'm a newbie when it comes to turning them in, as I've only done it a few times. I normally just sell them lol

You may want to keep selling them tbh. There isn’t much for you to gain doing these quests from what I can see. Too risky

You’ll average to 1/6 either way, but if you can’t write off a loss from turning in tens of amulets and getting next to nothing back, I wouldn’t advise doing it.

Some people’s best/cheapest/most scalable option for boosting is tomes. If you’re not there, don’t bother. It’s a waste of your monies.
