This is probably a really dumb question and I may not be thinking straight because I'm literally lying down with vertigo, but I'mma ask it anyway.

I'm thinking of changing my name, because one I really like is available and it could be like a soft reset on my account, since I got rid of almost all my pets last year and have basically started over.

I've changed my username a couple of times before but those were many years ago, before I was particularly social, and no one cared.

Now, though, I wonder if I have to make some sort of announcement somewhere and I was wondering if there was a thread dedicated to that? Or if not should I put "formerly known as Poetry" in my signature or on my profile? And how long would I have to keep the notice up?

Idk I just don't want people wondering who this stranger is who suddenly showed up in their friends lists and who is making posts and stuff. What does the general populace of Subeta like/expect when someone changes their username?

I see people often putting a note in their signature with name changes, and making a post in bragging and complaining and just pinging people to let them know. :)

Same as what Virus said. I have had several friends who changed their username. They just let their friends know, and some put a note on their profile.

My friend "Fiend" just changed their name and put their former name in their status!

When I changed my username, I changed my status to "formerly ______," and I thiiiink I may have posted about it in B&C.

when i changed mine i just went to the welcome forums lol it was after a very long hiatus (aka i forgot about this site until i remembered) so it basically felt like being new again
