So I'm planning on adopting a steamwork pet and changing its gender.

I heard that your steamwork pet becomes genderless if you change its gender. Is that true or is my memory wonky?

to my knowledge if you create a steamwork from the plans it gives it the gear symbol, which I guess in a sense could be considered genderless

created steamwork pets have a unique gear gender. using a gender berry on the pet will change it to either male or female. (i can't remember if it's random or if it always defaults to one.) if you change the pet's color while it has the gear gender, it will become genderless.

there's a genderless berry as well.
changing a pet to steamwork the pet keeps the gender, creating a steamwork from schematics gives a gear gender. <3
