I'm new so I'm probably just completely missing something, but it seems like my pets are getting hungry at an unreasonable rate. A few hours ago, I logged on and they were at 0/10 which surprised me since I fed them to full yesterday, but I fed them up again and only a few hours later they're at 5/10. Are they really supposed to be eating over 20 food items a day to be sustained? Is there an autofeeder, or something like a Neolodge, or items that give more than 1 Hunger, or even a way to bulk buy inexpensive food?

How fast is ridiculously fast depends on who you are and what you find amusing. There are some here who are so impatient to feed their pets that they take their pets to the Shengui Guo bathhhouse and spend 250KsP to make them more hungry.

I have no idea what place you are talking about, it's not on Subeta. There are two places that will feed your pets for you, if you do not like to feed your pets. The Lakeside Resort is in Veta, it's in the lower left corner, and if you have access to the Omen Islands, the Rathskellar Inn is the upper floor of the tavern.

pets get a hunger check every hour. I'm not sure where the formula is these days, they've tweaked it a lot because pets kept getting too hungry or not hungry enough. So now I think its almost automatic that they lose 1 hunger an hour.

They can be put in the Resort for 200 sP/day, for up to 21 days at a time. They will be fed and played with. Note if you Major Drills quests, you might want to keep one pet out of the resort so you have a pet who can be fed and played with for those quests.

You can get Free Food.

You can also fish Underground every 3 minutes. The majority of items you fish up can be fed to your pets.

Feeding your pet is also mostly cosmetic. It’s only important if you want a gourmand or to batttle.

I heard something about pets that have eaten more foods getting hungry fater so then you can keep feeding them, but I'm not sure how true it is. But I guess it can be annoying if you want to battle and don't have a lot of food for them. I've got loads of food that my main pet still needs to eat.

They did try to implement something like that for a long time, but it never worked correctly. So I believe now every pet gets hungry at the same rate, which is one point per hour.

And they implemented the cleansing pools feature (link) as a compromise for people who want to be able to feed their pets faster.
