Sometimes I get these really harsh headaches, usually after a stressfull event. Not too often, maybe 3-4 times a year.
Before I get them my mood drops to the buttom and it feels like I lose some strength in my muscles. I can feel a headache building up. When the headache comes, my stomach also get quite upset and I experience mild nausea. I don't feel like doing anything, not even the things I love, like playing video games or watch videos. Being active only seems to make it worse.
Probably--there are several different kinds of migraines out there. I fairly frequently get headaches that start in my neck and spread out to one side of my head. It took me yeaaarrrs to realize they were migraines, since I thought they just involved light/noise sensitivity.
Only recently did mine get bad enough to give me light sensitivity--I felt like I was going to vomit one morning until I crawled back under the blanket and covered my eyes. Nowadays, if I feel one coming on, I keep the lights low and take ibuprofen beforehand to keep them under control, and it works really well! Most times the pain goes away on its own and doesn't bother me for the rest of the night. They used to be day-long events!
Long story short, you could be having some type of migraine. I'm not a doctor, and even if I was, I couldn't diagnose you over the internet. I'd keep an eye on them just in case they get worse, and try different techniques to see what helps calm them when they do come up.
It could be. My migraines don't fit the "typical symptoms". Mine get brought about by stress and uncertainty. They hit mild and if I get any Tylenol within the first hour I'm ok. If I can't then I'm in misery for 3 days. But its hard to tell since they start so mildly like regular headaches. Yet I suffer no sensitivity to light and rarely do sounds bother me so I can watch whatever. The last one though had me feeling very dizzy. I went years without them, now the past year they've come back.
I'm with Marcus on keeping an eye on your symptoms and if they change from the normal you suffer with them. Also if you can try to identify your amplifiers that lead to it may help you avoid or better navigate them to reduce the migraines.
