Hello Battle People, so my main battle pet

So this is our current set: and As you can see, I have two once per battle items which is maybe not the best startegy, but I use them basically every battle. We usually begin with the Tag and the Gorgun and then hit as hard as possible with the V-Nuke and the Shruiken. Depending on how hard the opponent hits we then either use the Breastplate and the Icewand of Doom every turn or the Icewand and the Frost Thorn. As for scrolls, we usually go with the Terra Focujin. Maybe get something better than the Singed Stuffing?

Cieran can beat most BQ opponents up to lvl. 20, although some like the Hustler are still too strong. Even though her defense is pretty close to her speed and attack right now, her stats are usually way more on the offensive side and the gap between attack/ speed and defense will increase again.

Since I'm on a budget I'd be okay with maybe waiting to upgrade her set until she hits tier 9 or maybe even 10 - in that case I could already start saving SP. But maybe there is something that stands out as very flawed at the moment?

, For T8, I recommend these upgrades:

-The Scientist Specs would replace the Gorgun as your main freezer. It has better attack, defense, and acts as a small stat booster. I think it's a good intermediate freezer until you get Intricate Energized Helmet in the later tiers.

-The Recycle Blaster blasts one of your opponent's weapons into a junk weapon, which can be helpful in reducing the damage you incur.

-Item Hunters Bomb is a stronger alternative to V-Nuke and Mystical Star Shuriken. It also has a curse that does 3 extra icons of unblockable damage for 100 turns.

-Panzer Hydra Blade can replace Frost Thorn. It has a heal on it whereas Frost Thorn doesn't, which I think makes it more helpful. It also scales up to T9 so you can use it in the next tier too.

-Item Defenders Shield is an upgrade from Flayed Lord Breastplate. It blocks all nine icon types whereas the Breastplate only blocks six different kinds.

-The Reborn Icewand of Doom, UltimaPlus Tag, and Phoenix Quill are great so I would keep those.

For scrolls, I think you would benefit most from adding some defensive scrolls to your set. Something like a few Cobalt Eternal Scrolls and Fatal Fire Scrolls would help you last longer in battles. Terra Focujin Scroll is already an upgrade from Singed Stuffing Scroll so you don't really need to have both.

You're right where you should be in terms of BQs, by the way! Levels 21-25 are for T8-T10, so you'll be able to start defeating some new challengers soon :D

Thank you for your reply and also for explaining what these suggestions do. I think I'll go for that exact set :) It's not at all as pricey as I was afraid it could be.

Although I have one question: You've suggested the . I've seen a lot of people praising and suggesting it in other topics and actually even used it a while ago, but for some reason it never proved all that useful to me. However, I think I'll give it another try :) When would it make sense to use it? On the first turn in combination with the UltimaPlus Tag? I suppose it's best to use against opponents who have freezers and weapons that can do a lot of damage, but it does seem like a gamble, right? Is it completely random which weapon it blasts?

I freeze on the first turn and then use the blasters (Recycle Blaster and Soma Tablets) on the second turn. Using them leaves your defense wide open since you're not blocking anything so I think it's best to do it while the opponent is frozen.

And yes, they do hit randomly. Some people end the battle and restart until they hit the desired weapons, but that can take a while. Either way though, you'll incur less damage and do slightly more when using them because you aren't getting hit by as many icons and the junk weapons don't block any icons.
