if someone is posting in the Kiss the User Above thread in the Survival Forums, they're around at the time of their posting, and at least long enough more to do the kiss to the person above.

Well, Survival is over, why isn't it back yet? Can only certain admins who aren't online yet open it? Or are they working on something first and haven't told us yet?

Assuming it's not fixed by the time Masquerade rolls around, it would have to be shut down again so it doesn't crash the site during that holiday. Maybe they don't want to open it for a bit only to yank the rug out again.

But that's just me.

It doesn't feel like Subeta without the shoutbox, I miss it. I thought it was coming back right after survival ended.

The staff said they were planning to open it after Survival though. Unless they didn't specify WHEN after Survival, I take things very literally most of the time so I thought it would be right after or failing that, the next day.

If they changed their minds and decided to keep it closed even longer just because another event is coming soon, it would have been nice for them to tell us. It's another one of those communication issues.

Or maybe they're working on it now so they can keep it open for the next event. I don't think it's likely to be fixed by then, but since it was poorly recieved this time, they might be looking for a way to not have to do it again.

I think it's fair that you interpreted it the way you did. If they are holding it over, they should mention that, although I was the one who brought that up in the first place.

Sometimes, I notice things do slip through the cracks sometimes. Holiday forums for instance, do have a very specific end time and I've seen them stay open for a couple of dayss after that. It could be as simple as somebody forgetting to open the SB again.

I Did not have a single one of those happen, while the Shoutbox was closed... now that it is back open... Eror eror. :s Lets hope they can figure out what is the root cause coughshoutbox?cough of these errors.

^ I had occasional application errors while the shoutbox was closed, just like normal (fragging, quickstock, that kind of thing).
