PCGamesN ran an article about it earlier and that's where I saw it, but their own article is a lot more interesting. It's GPU mining, but it's to help researchers study things like alzheimers, cancer, etc and now they're helping with Coronavirus too. If you have a good compy this can be a nice way to help out.
This sounds interesting, unfortunately my laptop aint exactly 'good' any longer so I should probably keep from trying it ^^'
I've actually been able to run this on a crappy old laptop and there is an option to only let it run while your computer is idle (accessible through the local web control interface) so it's not using resources while you're trying to do something.
By the way, if you run into trouble with the web control page not loading, try another browser. I normally use Opera and they didn't want to play nicely together, but it works for me in Chrome.
