So I showed 2 pics to someone.. one of a reborn I own. the other of a bjd ive been looking at. they started calling them creepy.. had the nerve to compare them to a chucky doll. Told me to to just to get a cabbage patch doll..

So ya this person was very disrespectful. Neither of the dolls where horror dolls.. so they are not like a chucky doll. the dolls I showed are considered art. (my reborn is hand painted and hand rooted) I just wish people would keep there rude mouths to themselves. "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"

Update (2/9/20) well ive got a new neighbor moving in.. the house has been empty for over 10 years.. so this is going to be interesting.. I take my reborns outside for better lighting(for photos) . now im kinda uneasy feeling.. you see the other side of me is just a empty field.. so other than the people across from me ive never had to deal with this. The people across from me have already been warned by police (for something they caused to happen) to stop there behavior or they would be held responsible.(I don't want to say anything more than this on this subject other than this was not related to the reborns)

My town is known has a lot of crazy people in it. A lot of people who shoot off at the mouth. call people names. make fun of people. laugh at people and threaten people. the cops in my town well.. they let cows walk in roads and almost cause school buses to plow them. All cause farmers won't fix there fence. police won't go even talk to the cow owner. so sometimes the cops are pathetic.

update 3/3/20 well the so called new neighbor turned out was a drunk freeloading in a empty house(which he stole all the stuff from). cops wouldn't even come out to remove him. the owner of the houses family had to show up and physically remove him.. no one is supposed to live there do the house being a health hazard. also turns out the vehicle he driving is not paid for the owner of it said it is now considered stolen because it was not paid for..(something about a lean on the tittle) so this person has trespassed, is hiding out so the vehicle there driving isn't reposed, gave multiple names to people (which is how he got caught), stole and turns out sold the belongings of the house he was freeloading in (according to the police he had a house they wen't to it told him to stay off the property he was removed from even though the cops where not the ones that removed him)

dolls are just something that creep people out, kinda like clowns. there’s nothing really that scary about them but pop culture makes them creepy lol. i actually have a very small collection of living dead dolls which i find cute, but for obvious reasons most people i show them to don’t like them. just be selective with who you share your dolls with. there is a large community for them, you’ll find people who understand how cute they are and how much work goes into them. you could also try educating that person. but idk if you would want to, seems like they reacted terribly. they definitely should have put more thought in their words, they might not have known how important it is to u.

If people has got an other taste than your hobby's they can be honest on a politie way.

Like: "I'm not so fond of dolls, but maybe you can tell about on a way it's nice to hear tough. Thank's for sharing".

But then it's important their interest in what you have to tell about, is also honest and not just only to say this to you to be just polite.

In the most cases it's better to ignore rude comments and don't spend time on this people. They exist. We have not made the reality how it is. So be it.

If I want to share my hobby's I'll ignore the rude ones and I'll select the ones who share your hobby's and the ones who has got enough interests.

One issue is no one (at least that I know of) around here knows what a reborn or a bjd even is.. so the only place I can go to to even talk to someone is online..

Well, you know, dolls are usually something we associate with children, and you're not a child, if i'm not mistaken. and then there are certain dolls that are art or collectibles. but this is beyond the point. your hobby is your hobby, and you shouldn't be made fun of because of something you enjoy. Try to shrug it off, some people are asses and there's nothing we can do to change that. don't let that person's comment to take away from enjoying your hobby, especially if it doesn't hurt anyone, which i'm sure it doesn't.
