Not sure if "Literature" has to mean artistic books only or could work for any books in general so I hope this is the correct forum to ask. I need recommendations for books with information on Astronomy, Nature, Oceans/Seas and Animals. I'm working on a novel and have characters fascinated by these so I want to have more knowledge on them to help me with writing my characters. I just hope to find books that are engaging, simple and easy to understand since I have problems with concentrating, especially on scientific subjects.
This forum is for any books, not just fiction!
You might try starting with The Best American Science and Nature Writing series. A new volume is published every year. They are collections of essays; I find them interesting and pretty easy to read. If a specific subject piques your interest, then you could try to look for more books about it.
I tried to find similar collections with non-American authors as well, but nothing was coming up on an Amazon search.

There is a wonderful series of books called "Nature's Children." Each book features a specific animal, and while they are written for children, I thoroughly enjoy reading them as an adult. They are concise and interesting, giving you all the facts you could want about any animal. I believe different authors write them, but you can look them up like this. Nature's Children: Coyotes Nature's Children: Otters etc.
