Has anyone had a bad experience with autopricing? I checked my sales history out of curiosity and there seems to be users who will purposely price big selling items very low, purchase said item from a shop that autoprices, then either set that item back to the high price or just take it out of their shop....Are people doing this on purpose or am I just overthinking things?

Should I make a ticket if I suspect other users of doing this?

I'm damned sure that's a thing. 'Cause just a few minutes ago I've noticed 3 Graveyard Potions for 1mil instead of 11mil... Tried to warn the sellers about it so they could change the price quickly and now all three potions are suspiciously gone huh... For this case I just think that one of the sellers miswrote the price but other than this, this is why I don't trust the Autopricer. I'd rather set my prices manually.

I have seen this over the last few days Usually after I autoprice my nex way is to go and check price setting (show lowest price)

BUT you can't really be sure it's on purpose if anyone does this maybe they are quitting and want to be nice....

and I HATE princing 200 items a day per hand

I don't think this is necessarily malicious, I have "sniped" things that were possibly mispriced on shop search, but due to the shop search removes the shop listing from purchase (and there have been instances where I forgot to open the shop first), I had been unable to notify the store owner if they would like to purchase it back for the same cost

Sometimes personally I undercut items that I want to sell swiftly, and if someone can enjoy something for a good deal, I'm happy with that rather than it sitting on my account being unused. I realise that can trick up some autopricers, but that's not really malicious either.

If one person puts it in their shop at a low price and you see it, and that same person buys it from your shop and then raises the price in their own shop then yes it’s on purpose and I would make a ticket.

Other than that you can’t really tell if it’s on purpose but if you notice the same names always doing it a ticket can’t hurt.

Well, this thread's a wild ride.

I, too, wish to spend 500mil on an item with exceptionally common rarity because, oh snap, someone might think I'm undercutting them. Specifically. (So. Much. Sarcasm.)

Also, the autopricer goes by whatever that item sold for last so if someone did typo a number and it sold, it goes by that.

For the Graveyard Potion case, which is quite a slow-selling item, I still find it strange how the three 1mil potions got bought all of a sudden though! I'm sure the low price wasn't set on purpose but someone dishonest took advantage of that. Please double check before setting your Autopricer! At least on your most expensive if that would be too time-consuming.

EDIT : Oh the seller answered me, they did forget a zero in their price. Ouch!

Well I was pricing my shop this morning and happened to notice an item that was undercut that most likely an error of a forgotten zero so I bought the three in shops that were at that price with intentions to sell them back to those people at the same price I bought them for and then I realized I am a dummy because I forgot to actually click on the users names before buying the items so now I have no idea who I bought them from. So if I bought something from anyones shop for 250k that was actually worth 2.5 mill let me know what item it was and I will sell it back to you. I will hold onto them for a little while just in case. I feel bad because I know this will probably not be seen from anyone I bought it from but worth a shot.

Sometimes I severely undercut an item that just isn't selling. If no one buys the 24 million item in my shop, I drop it to 4 or 2 million for a quicksale. And people who insist that 15 million is the correct price for a newly-released Common plushie and moan when people start dropping the price to actually sell it can bite me.

Recently, I bought something for 6m instead of 16m - someone left off a 0.

It's called "You make a mistake and sometimes, you pay for it." If they asked me to sell it back to them, I would have, even if I'm not obligated to. They didn't, so I kept it and use it.

Sometimes I undercut things to sell quickly when I'm close to a goal. Sometimes I leave off a 0 by accident, and when someone offered to sell me the item back so I could reprice it, I declined.

My inability to pay attention isn't their fault, and neither is the other way around.

Due to my paranoia of stuff like this happening to me, I separated my regular items and my high-value items into separate shops so that one I can price by hand and one I can autoprice... only figuring out the cutoff for hand-pricing vs autopricing got out of hand and I ended up with an overwhelming amount of hand-pricing to do that I procrastinate a ton on dealing with that problem now. 😭

Well sadly there's not much that can be done with "catching" out those who purposefully create an artificial inflation on items. Its on us to double check the prices of things before we hit that final submit prices button. If its in a shop and listed for sale at any price its fair game to buy and do as the user wants. I'd like to hope that items like rare foods or potions are scooped up by those who have use of them amd enjoy they got a great deal. Also years ago when people would quit it wasn't uncommon for them to load their shops with items at 1sp. I think this trend stopped because it does screw with auto pricing.

I myself drop prices on plushies and beanbags. The sp I make from that shop is my spending sp for whatever I wanna get.

So yes its irritating asf when you see someone buy items on the cheap off others and sell it higher, but there's also nothing to stop it. Its no different when people stalk the dc to snag items to sell rarher than use.

FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.

it is a thing but is hard to prove so i personally never bothered filing tickets about it. even if outright malicious intent is questionable, i still frown upon people buying out very clearly mispriced high-end items, i mean like CS stuff selling for thousands instead of millions. nothing to get super upset about though since it's still just pet site money, but it also makes me question why in the world would someone go out of their way and like, run a whole scamming scheme... over pet site money. that's just pathetic lmao.

Gotta be honest, a lot of users are competitive with pricing. I wouldn't doubt this for a second.
