please feel free to move/remove this as you desire; this just seemed like a big deal considering the cost of working with this stat, and it's not something people are being made aware of.

There's a bug with intelligence stat training. Some people are seeing no stat gain from reading books to their pets, others are seeing a complete reset of the stat. It's been recommended by the player who passed on the information to stop reading books to your pet until ..uh..well for now, you might not want read, especially any higher priced books.

Intelligence not increasing "its best to not boost intel at the moment, as there is a pretty severe glitch right now where some peoples pets intel has been completely reset despite having read 1500+ books. i'd recommend filing a ticket if you can pinpoint how many intel points you got, but yeah. best to avoid doing anything else."

You might also want to make a note of the standing intelligence of pets. That way, if the problem spreads the way the quests not resetting issue has, we have a record to provide to get things fixed.

Uadjet thanks for the info! I've been reading books regularly to my main pet - got a bunch from the Cash Shop sale. But I have no way to be sure if they were counted or not. Fortunately my pet is not a 0 INT, so that part of the bug hasn't hit me yet. Either way, I'm listing all my pets current INT here and will not be reading to them until this is resolved.

Seriously? I've been reading to pet regularly. I've no idea if the books have been counting. Honestly, what else could go wrong? And why on earth wouldn't they let everyone know this was a potential issue?

I think the issue was born of the rewriting needed by the move, so anything from before then most likely counted. I can't find a specific start of bug date but the OP opened the thread on the 11th so at least since then. The original poster in the thread didn't notice anything untoward until they tried to get their pet promoted. I'm assuming that means the blurbs about increases in the stat were still showing even though the increase wasn't happening. I'm not sure how we can tell besides noting intel now and manually tracking it after doing anything that might boost intelligence. There's been no response from staff to the original poster, who has likely filed a ticket and gotten whatever help they would get that way. I recommend doing nothing at all to increase that stat until things calm down again, and definitely keep track of it from now since the complete reset appears to be random.

That's if raising the stat is your main goal. I suppose if you just like to read books for that achievement it might be alright, provided the books themselves are registering as having been read. I'm not sure if the pet I tend to work on most has missed stat gains but I know I read her some of the Melody books from this year so I can have a look at that. It won't tell a lot, since I don't know if I'm affected but any info is better than none.

EDIT: The Lumi books I've read to my pet are showing up in the books read.

i lowkey forget about my pet stats but i def read to them both to get the achivement and for intel (n to no onger have it in my inventory lol) ty
