Can someone tell me why my pet won't play with items. I can't do any of the Major Drills that require playing with a toy.

Are they in the resort? If so then the resort will keep them happy without you having to play with toys :D That's the main issue for my pets usually

more generally a pet will play with anything you give it if it is at all bored. So your pet could also have a minion, or could also have been zapped. Either of these or either of the places you can send your pet to stay will make your pet too amused/happy to play with any toy.

Having to skip and/or wanting to skip any particular quest for Drills is part of that quest and how it works. Until you undo one of the above things you will have to do that.

This works the same with food, if a pet is all hungry you can feed them anything. Hunger also has a Cleansing Pool in Shengui Guo that makes your pet hungry. There is no equivalent Serenity Pool for toys.

I didn't realize that having a minion attached kept them amused. That must be it.
