I play Spectrail a lot. Lately, I have been getting the following error message almost any time that I try to start a new game:

There was a problem starting a new game. You may be seeing this due to a poor internet connection. Please refresh the page and try again. If the problem persists, please make a bug report.

I have a pretty fast connection and am getting this error both at home and at school, so I don't think that's the problem. Refreshing the page doesn't help. Sometimes I have to die and restart many times in a row to get a new game going. I am only having this issue with Spectrail.

I'm having this same issue, too!!! It's really annoying having to refresh only to get the same message again.

I'm also having this issue, and I thought if I finished the game it would be okay, but instead I get an error message when I try to send the score that says "The game record provided was not found. If you believe this is in error, click the send score button to try again." But that doesn't do anything no matter how many times I try sending my score.

I didn't notice this issue before the server move (despite playing every month), but I've had it on every game since (in multiple browsers).

I've been having the issue a lot recently on different days at different times, I have a strong connection and this only happens on spectrail and no other game.

I've found that if I take my time starting the game, the error doesn't occur. So I wait a few seconds before clicking Play, then wait another few seconds before selecting the difficulty level. It's annoying but it's better than not being able to play. If you're having trouble, might be worth giving that a try!

for me it just doesn't load? it gets to 100% and never actually lets me start :-/

This issue has begun happening to me recently, starting yesterday.

Right now I'm unable to play Spectrail at all because I get that popup every time I start a new game (even if I reload). Of course, it lets me play the game, but if I try to submit a score I receive an error message (I've gotten two different error messages but one of them says something about the game record not existing).

I'm experiencing a lot of slowness for subeta and I know that it's not my connection so I'm going to hypothesize that it's related to server issues or the game timing out and failing to register a new game for scorekeeping purposes... or something!

Would be nice if it would let me just play the game without that initial requirement and figure out it's s*** after I've tried to send a score! Getting a pop up mid game not only results in you dying but it prevents you from being able to send that score in an existing game you've started, which is not a good player experience.
