Is there a way to order your friends list in the dropdown?

You can favorite certain friends so that they'll be the only ones showing in the dropdown, but otherwise, no. They're just listed alphabetically

Sadly (and for reasons I've never understood) they don't list alphabetically - they list by order of acceptance. Your oldest friend is at the top and the most recent friend is at the bottom of the list.

They do list alphabetically on the friend page, but that's about it.

Oh, whoops. I was looking at the friends page while I was typing and didn't even catch that they were in different orders

Yes, I find the order going by when you made friends with them confusing, I would prefer alphabetical order. I think a few of us have suggested it on the "List of usability" thread, it would be better to have the option or order friends alphabetically rather than the order they were added.
