I have never been a regular fragger by any means. I would like to build up my stock of crystals for the future and wondered if there were any tips or techniques I need to know? I find I get torn between saving items for the Recycle Beast, or throwing them in the fragger...am never sure what's the best thing to do!

Or, if anyone knows of a guide, please point me in the right direction?

Do wizard quests to get tokens > vend with those tokens > frag the vend items. It helps if you have a gold account because you get more wiz quests (more tokens!) and more vends (500 vs 250).

I'm not sure if anyone ever compiled an updated list of which rarities give out what number of crystals, but pretty much everything fraggable guarantees you at least one

I usually just buy up everything under X price (which is an arbitrary number I decide on the fly), starting with items from my own shop after autopricing and then just picking shops at random from the SS and scanning for items that fall in my price range, then rinse and repeat. I'll also sometimes just grab everything from a cheap enough NPC shop, but it feels more time consuming with the back and forth and slightly longer wait between buys, even if lag on the SS page sometimes has me waiting 5 seconds anyway

I've been buying out shops with super cheap items.. If that helps? It takes time but it's gotten me about 5k crystals in the last few days

If you wanna do it for free, then just hoard absolutely everything. It's easy to both fragmentize large amounts of items at one time and it's easy to buy HPCs and things to fragmentize if you desperately need more suddenly. Doing either of the same for the Recycle Beast is much harder.

While Humming Power Crystals are relatively expensive now, most of the year they're very cheap. The easiest way then is to stalk the open markets once or twice during your regular playtime here and buy them boringly one-by-one from other users. Useful or interesting Crystal Shop restocks are very irregular, and this uncertainly gives the market in HPCs plenty of time to drop.

It remains to be seen if folks who want what's in the Crystal Shop but have been too lazy to fragmentize regularly or even at the time of release will sustain the effort to get what they want. Usually, they don't. Especially since the deadline is a couple months away.

The whole vending and then fragmentizing all the cheapies places HPCs at around 3000K apiece, since you need two WT to do a Vend. So this method also is costing you some currency. This cost can be offset if you Vend something nice. Me, I don't rely on it but if you don't mind the labor, it IS good advice for a steady supply.

Similarly RBP can be bought directly from the NPC Recycle Beast himself. Buy 500 RBP per day by burning sP and you will always have a good supply and you can just fragmentize everything with no worries. Most folks who sell RB items will charge about that and many RB items have a peculiar demand cycle which means you can find many of them for cheaper than the time and effort you might put in to get them directly yourself.. Unless you are going for the Achievement to have tons of RBP and want to both burn sP and donate stuff, I wouldn't worry about it.

If you are in a hurry about the RBP you can set your alarm and come to Subeta at Sutbeta's midnight. Then madly buy as many of the items that he is asking for at the time. I used to do that, it's a mad mad mad rush as you are competing with everyone else scrounging them all up. If you're lucking you can get forty to a hundred RBP each day.

I fish in the underground for fragging fodder. You can fish every 3 minutes.

I made a listing of crystals you get for fragging. Most everything is 1.5 crystals per item fragged, but rare and super rare give you more. Fragging results by rarity

Yeah, I pretty much just frag like everything extra that I have as long as it's not super expensive and more worth selling. Cheap items I get from doing quests, vending, even cheap event items like some of my Morostide extras and floating pumpkins. The crystals start to add up if you try to get rid of your excess stuff that way.
