Hello, you lovely Chit-Chat-ers! Halloween is rounding the corner here in a few days, so what are some of your favorite treats to celebrate with?
For those of you that don't celebrate, what are some of your favorite treats to enjoy during chilly autumn weather? c:

Not candy corn. XD
Reese's cups, hands down.

I can't eat as much candy as I used to, and I'm finding I don't have much of a taste for chocolate the more I age. I'll still get a big bag of it on sale and throw it in the freezer to consume over the next few months, though, and of them all Reese's cups (or like the Halloween pumpkin shaped ones) are my faves.
I also like that it's cider season. Nothing like a mug of warm spiced cider on chilly nights <3
When I was a kid I remember it mostly being a handful of different types of candy, mainly KitKats, milky ways, Reese’s peanut butter cups and Twix.
I'm not a big chocolate fan but chocolate eyeballs have become a tradition for my son and me and it's just not Halloween without 'em. They're a decoration and a treat!

Otherwise, I prefer sour/fruity candy like Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish. Especially this one particular grape candy I remember getting while trick or treating as a kid but I can't seem to find it anymore. This package seems familiar but the candy itself doesn't; not sure if the candy changed or if it was something else. These seem to be gummies and what I remember was soft but not gummy.

(I know, what kind of monster picks grape as their favorite candy? This kind of monster right here.)
I don't like peanuts and peanut butter so that limits a lot of things. I do however love sour candies, so Sour Patch Kids, Sour Skittles, Warheads, and for chocolate I'll happily take Twix, KitKat and Mars.
Dude, I haven't had warheads in years. XD
Oddly enough, now I'm craving warheads.
They're so good! The dollar store in my town sells bags of them for a few bucks. I eat until my tongue hurts and then have to wait for it to heal before I can go in again.
Also, just thinking about them and how sour they are is enough to get the saliva going. I should go see if I have any in the cupboard.
I remember them being popular when I was in middle school. My go-to is mostly sour patch kids or sour skittles though.
We should have a party where the only snacks allowed are sour treats :)
Here's a controversial question. What's your opinion on black licorice?
, don't like it usually. I'm not a huge fan of licorice in general though.
taffy with nails or anything tampered by drug dealers handing out candy
lmao or kitkats
So many people aren't fans... I wonder what makes it so polarizing.
Black licorice has such a distinct flavor.
I did have a friend in high school that really liked red licorice. She would bring a box for lunch pretty much every couple days so I'm usually ok with other flavors of licorice. I don't go out of my way to buy licorice usually, but I do occasionally like stuff like twizzlers though I go with the red flavor mostly.
I love black licorice. I guess that's probably even more controversial and unpopular than grape flavor. "Red licorice" is ok if it's Red Vines...Twizzler is absolute garbage imo though, it's like eating plastic. Don't know why it's lumped in with actual licorice though; it's not the same thing at all.
I also love cooking with fennel.
D.A.R.E promised me strangers would give me free drugs, especially at Halloween, but they never did. I'm so disappointed. :P
The Reeses shaped like pumpkins and the pumpkin shaped candy corn haha
