okay, so I still have these sitting in my Vault and was wondering if they were meant to open or just be something to hold onto? I feel like I missed something entirely with them

They're just leftover from the mini plot from last year's Morostide, they don't do anything else. People can keep them to put in a gallery or pet TC or something, but yeah other than that they're just pretty items.
