FOSSIL DAY – October 13, 2019
A fossil (from Classical Latin fossilis; literally, "obtained by digging“) is any preserved remains, impression, or trace of any once-living thing from a past geological age. Examples include bones, shells, exoskeletons, stone imprints of animals or microbes, objects preserved in amber, hair, petrified wood, oil, coal, and DNA remnants. Specimens are usually considered to be fossils if they are over 10,000 years old. The oldest fossils are around 4.1 billion years old.
Paleontology is the study of fossils: their age, method of formation, excavation and evolutionary significance.
Fossils aren’t just interesting and beautiful — they’re also proof of the existence of once-living things (like dinosaurs, animals, plants and even DNA remnants). Through these fossils we’re able to learn a lot about life from billions of years ago. We can even take a look at animals and life-forms that are no longer on the planet! These fossils (and the education around them) deserve to be preserved and explored. Today we show appreciation for these incredible “time capsules,” and the paleontologists who excavate them.
Challenge:
Dress your HA to presenting the theme, be creative! You can enter up to 3 HAs.
It is allowed to use all clothing items, CWs included, and you don’t have to own the items. Please don’t use a HA you already entered in another HA contest in Subeta or made back in time, please make new HAs. Please post the HA(s) here, preferably with the Share function.
Please don’t forget to use surroundings and please layer the face items for a meaningful expression.

I love this theme! I was just plotting with a friend yesterday about going on a fossil-hunting expedition to Utah or Wyoming someday! haha
So anyway, I did a realistic HA but then I couldn't help myself...I also had to revive some fossil DNA à la Jurassic Park, because boy do I want a pet dinosaur (and a cool lab).

I couldn't resist making my two favorite (fictional) paleontologist: Dr Alan Grant and Dr Ellie Sattler. To round out the Jurassic Park trio I couldn't resist making Dr Ian Malcolm (even though he's not a paleontologist).
