Hey don't feel too bad I was doing Item Hunt recently and it asked for an item, I instinctively clicked "buy" and realized that it was over 3 million.
I was on a super low level too... got like 12,000sp back! Haha
But yeah. I make CERTAIN to absolutely vault everything in my inventory before I zap. It's saved my butt so many times.

Its one of the reasons I quit zapping to be honest. I would remember to put stuff away and zap....and then eventually forget and leave something valuable in inventory.
