I have been trying to play it but every time I get to three paint splotches and turn it says game over. I am not running into anything and it is consistently only happening after I reach three splotches and try to turn. I have tried in all three difficulties several times each two different days and its always the same thing. I am playing on Chrome Windows 10.
Is this still happening? And have you tried any other browsers to see if that is the issue?

It still happens in Chrome but I tried in Explorer and it works fine. The paint splotches are closer together in Chrome than they are in Explorer and that is why they are touching as soon as I turn with three of them behind me.
Weird o.o I play fine in chrome. I can ask if there is anything to do about that.

I usually get a bug when trying to send scores and it always says I "already submitted the score" and I actually had a score of like 1396 and it wouldn't let me submit, even though I never submitted any scores beforehand. 0:

I am still not able to play this in Chrome or Microsoft Edge for reasons in the OP. I wasn't sure If I should make a new topic or just post again in this one according to the rules it says this forum has no necro time limit?
I'm aware this is quite an old thread, but I'm running into the same problem on both Firefox and Chrome on Windows 10.

Is it consistent? Like, every time you perform a certain action/at a certain place/etc? Or completely random seeming.
It's every time after collecting three paint splats, on all three difficulties. I just checked it on Microsoft Edge, which I never use, and I'm running into the same problem.
I've just come back to Subeta after a few years absence on a brand new laptop, so I'm not sure if that's relevant at all, but I do remember Spectrail working fine when I last played it in 2017 or so.

I've been playing around with the game a bit since the last response, and I can't seem to replicate.
Just to be clear, once you get the 3 paint splats, as soon as you click a different direction key it ends up saying game over?
Since it's entirely possible I've just gotten terrible at Spectrail, I went ahead and recorded gameplay since I figured it would be the best way to explain what I'm running into. Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCxv_HPHpkI
I'm using Firefox 88.0 on Windows 10.

This is great, thank you! I know games are low priority right now, but I'll see if a programmer can take a look.
Hi I know this is a old thread but its happening to me now as well. On all Firefox Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
I'm also experiencing a bug with Spectrail where I instantly die on the 3rd item/spectrum every single time no matter what I do, on all difficulties. This started today (I had no issues yesterday).
This happens on both MS Edge and Chrome - haven't tried it on IE.
On Safari Spectrail only loads to 97% and won't load any more.
I wanted to give an update since I posted earlier that I was also experiencing this problem and I still am.
I have several computers, and I only experience this issue on one of them (my personal desktop). I can play Spectrail on my two laptops but not on my desktop.
I can collect exactly 3 spectrums before instantly dying - I can't tell if it just hits game over and thinks that my 3rd item is a grey thing/game over item or if it spawns one instantly that I hit... no idea how to figure out what's going on there. I have the same problem in both Google Chrome and MS Edge. I haven't tried it on Firefox because I don't have it installed.
It's strange because all three of my computers are Windows 10 with similar programs installed (well, my personal laptop and my personal desktop at least). For the most part, the same browser, same websites visited, same extensions.
Earlier I said that Spectrail suddenly stopped working, but actually Spectrail has NEVER worked on that computer and I had tried the game there for the first time (I just wasn't paying attention).
Hiya, old thread but I am also having the 3-spectrum death issue on desktop :( I have tried Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. I tried to test it in IE as well, but it seems the game won't load at all there -- it shows a "Loading" icon for a moment and then just a black box.
After reading cherrikku's comment, I tried it on a laptop and was able to play successfully. It does look like the spectrum trail is spaced very closely on desktop compared to the trail on laptop.
