EDIT OCT 8: Added and removed a little, I'm keeping some of the Special-Currency-Item things like on the JUST-IN-CASE something freaky happens and each and every User/Regular shop item gets bought up, so that it'd still be buyable.
While stumbling through the Food Market and Quick Bites, I was caught off-guard by some of the "ingredients" that turned out to not be usable for baking with Fantine, so I decided to make a list of (primarily shop) ingredients that seem like they should be on the list of options for use for Fantine's different base ingredient categories. The list also includes some of the more recently-added vegan ingredients brought over from the Neugarten selection, but since I don't cook with vegan ingredients, feel free to let me know if they can't/shouldn't be used for cooking/baking, as I'm not enough of a cook to have any idea. xP

My apologies if I placed this in the wrong forum, I'm not enough of a poster and I still can't seem to Google search forum posts like I used to. 😭
I agree with you in the majority of ingredients, but in some instances - such as the Tempura Pumpkin - are a bit exaggerated. Adding tempura into or onto a cake just doesn't make any sense to me, IMO.
Sorry if it sounds a bit too open.
No issues here. I do agree the tempura pumpkin might be a bit.. much, but it was all I could find for pumpkin in the Quick Bites/Food Market shops, and like I mention in the post, I figured that since we have a few oddities like single sugar packs and candied walnuts and various flavors of butter for basic general-usage ingredients that maybe it could slide. xD (I doubt our creativity with food ingredients on here as it is will turn out quite as uniformly in the real world)
It's good to consider and discuss different angles. ^^
Definitely support a lot of these, but using holiday and/or neugarten items seems like it would just end up making the drop down list for each ingredient longer for no purpose, as I doubt anyone is going to drop a large amount of sp for one baking ingredient when there are cheaper alternatives.
I think the staff were planning on making the vegan items available to use, I'm not sure about the items that are from holiday shops though, but I think I did hear something about some of those items already being used there? I don't know. I don't think the items you use actually does anything to your chance of burning, I think the burning is based more on your experience level, and partly on luck.
the artisanal honeys are wearables and holiday items and the springtime royal honey seems to be going for almost 1mil... i don't think anyone would use them in a one-off recipe
i think more options is a good idea though
The vegan items that were moved from neugarten shops and added to the food market should definitely be added to fantine's drop downs. So should the chai honey and the honey packets.
I don't think the buttermilk should be added - its used in a couple of recipes as a specific ingredient, also it really can't be substituted as milk, it would be like using cheese instead of milk in your cake recipe.

1.It limits new recipes. I think we'd get more recipes and more fun if could had more "new" options to create them with. Making them basic ingredients makes them not-new.
2.Making all of these items into basic ingredients makes it so that new recipes can't ever include them as one of the specific ingredients on the right side of the baking screen without making those basic ingredients become extremely costly.
