American Chess Day – September 1, 2019
A game of strategy and skill, chess is played the world over by young and old alike. To play, two opponents face off across a checkers-style board, and take turns using their pieces of kings, queens, rooks, knights, bishops, and pawns to move along the 64-square board. Game times vary — great players can knock out their opponents very quickly or can spend hours strategizing their every move. To win, a player must use his pieces to capture those of the other player, with the ultimate goal of taking over the other player’s king. Checkmate! Often called “The Game of Kings,” you can play chess the good old-fashioned way with another player in person, or on the computer with opponents from all over the world.
A study found an increase in IQ scores of its participants after four months of learning and playing chess. It also enhances problem-solving skills, as players have to maneuver and manage the game and their opponent.
Challenge:
Dress your HA for a chess tournament, may it be as participant or spectator. Little oddity: You are not allowed to use items from the Chess trunk. You can enter up to 3 HAs which will be judged by a friend who plays chess since her childhood. There'll be 8 winners who can choose from the prize gallery below in order of placing.
It is allowed to use all other clothing items but the Chess Trunk ones, CWs included, and you don’t have to own the items. Please don’t use a HA you already entered in another HA contest in Subeta or made back in time, please make new HAs. Please post the HA(s) here, preferably with the Share function.
Please don’t forget to use surroundings and please layer the face items for a meaningful expression.
Contest ends at Sunday, 8th of September, midnight Subeta time.

Private Outfit I dressed up as an actual knight to be more intimidating. XD I was sort of imagining one of those "human chess" games where people take the place of the pieces on a giant board.
The white knight protects her king in battle Outfit Not Found The white queen is not going to fall prey to any onslaught Outfit Not Found The white king has seen damage but will not fall victim to the black opponents Outfit Not Found
Heeeeeey
Outfit Not Found The rook is a piece in the game of chess. Formerly the piece was called the tower, marquess, rector, and comes. The term castle is considered informal, incorrect, or old-fashioned. Each player starts the game with two rooks, one on each of the corner squares on their own side of the board. < So I made a Marquess. noun: a British nobleman ranking above an earl and below a duke.
Outfit Not Found A Pawn - a chess piece of the smallest size and value. a person used by others for their own purposes, a puppet. A movable model of a person that is used in entertainment and is typically moved either by strings controlled from above or by a hand inside it.
Ohhh this is an awesome challenge~ ❤️
When I played chess regularly, my favorite piece was the tower. (Which apparently is now called rook in English? The more you know!) So here's my white tower lady, going straight forward to get rid of the enemy's queen:
