Looking for other LGBT friends!!! I'm bisexual and agender (xe/xem or they/them pronouns) and I live in a super rural town in Canada. I'm also Muslim so if you're religious and LGBT I'd super love to hear from you, but it's obviously not mandatory!!

Hello! I'm a witch too. One who loves dungeons and dragons.
Cute avatar. :)
Sounds like a pretty good gig!
I have found a couple people who have never played who are willing to give it a try but I dont think I have what it takes to be a DM lol
Honestly it's the greatest thing I ever did. I used to think I didn't have what it took either, but I took the leap of faith and just did it and never looked back. You never know until you try, worst case it doesn't work out and best case you find you like it. If you want or need any tips and tricks feel free to hit me up, I'm always willing to share ^^
Youre right. I should just jump in and do it.
Have you played through the Lost Mines of Phandelver?
I want to start with something that will get them easily acquainted with the game and easy enough for me to run since it will be y first time.
I actually never did a module, it's all homebrew worlds and campaigns for me. I've played the first parts of Curse of Strahd and Waterdeep: Dragon Heist but those campaigns fell apart. But I have honestly heard great things about Lost Mines, so I think that is a really good place to start especially because I'm fairly certain that's what it is intended for. If it goes well you can even get other modules for levels after it's ended and keep running them to stretch it beyond the original module, which is kind of what I'm planning to do when Descent into Avernus drops depending on the details.
That sounds like the dopest job? Especially all homebrew!! That's really impressive, I'm really glad you were able to make it a gig! Finding a DM is always the hardest part about getting a group together (aside from figuring out a schedule lmao)
I think you definitely could DM! Especially if you have a group of people who've never played, it could be a good learning experience for everyone!
also omg d&d is def gay culture at this point I feel like I've never met an lgbt person who didnt at least have a character planned out
I think I am going to do it. :D
Really? I know very few people who play. And it makes my little heart sad. lol
Actually getting around to playing is pretty rare, yeah. Like me, I've never played buy I have like...3 characters made for a hypothetical campaign XD
Actually that's a big part of the reason I did it. So many people looking to play, vets and newbies alike, and so few people who DM. I get why, it's a metric ton of work to plan the campaign and work with players and manage all the things but I've been at this for ~15 months and it's almost second nature at this point. I do it all online too, so putting a group together is a lot easier XD
I honestly recommend roll20 for both of you too, it's so great. Takes a bit of adjustment if you don't know D&D but it's generally pretty good at replicating the real thing. I actually prefer it because it does all the crazy math so I don't have to and I don't have to have 50 books in front of me to know the rules and stuff.
D&D is such gay culture though, because Wizards has always tried to be progressive about that. Several characters are canonically LGBTQ+ in some measure, and a lot of their disclaimers are about making the game your own and now that it's becoming more popular a lot of that kind of stuff is also coming to the front and it's the greatest thing.
I do have an account on roll20 and played with a random group once. Everyone there seems pretty cool. But that software.. its a bit of a learning curve. lol
hi! i'm brodie, they/them. glad to see so many nonbinary people here!
wizards of the coast always seemed really approving of their lgbt fanbase, even in their earlier days. they've been getting a lot of new players in due to a bunch of DND podcasts too, which is fun to see! especially how a few of the main ones have their own mainly-lgbt fanbases. i have a character planned out, but social anxiety sucks so. no dnd for me yet, haha.
Heya~ I'm nonbinary transmasculine (usually I choose the simple route and just introduce myself as a dude) as well as polyamorous homoflexible demisexual :'D And a neo-pagan, guess you could slap the witch stamp on me too even if I personally don't usually use it.
I recently came back to Subeta after a LONG absence, and I like how inclusive the world is.
I draw fluffy (and sometimes lewd?) things, give a look!
