OK. This sounds like a question but this is a question that came from frustrations personally and more of a complain/rant thing. Like, why is their quest most of the time Sagittarius-tier of expensive and sometimes 80% hands over 1k sP for all the trouble, NOW, I get it there's the amulets. Ok, of course BUT it's not even guaranteed you'll get one esp. if you don't activate your GA it's just so annoying more importantly when SHINWA herself asks you to do Quentin's quests thrice. I just audibly groan if Shinwa does that.
I really like doing quests esp. it's my way of earning money as F2P (and achievements) but I just wish I could just minimize Quentin in my Quest tab because the thought of doing their quests make feel drained lmao and I thought Maleria's quest was more mentally draining to go through with her triple item requests.

I only do Quentin's quests because I'm an old user and a hoarder, so I generally have the more expensive things they ask for. I agree, if you actually have to buy the stuff asked for, the small chance of getting an amulet simply doesn't make up for the cost.

I didn't hoard the event items so I'm left barely doing their quests because I have to cancel them. I insta-cancel when they ask that has "ornament", "pumpkin" or literally reeks of holiday items. They always cost 40~50k. :(
I've been here for years and Quentin wasn't this bad or at least how I remember their quests. Maybe something happened when I went on hiatus? :(

The same thing has been bothering me and I'm glad to know it's not just me. It feels like the quests I skip are more than the ones I complete. I also remember that their quests weren't this bad before but I'm not sure when they got this way. :c
I have the same exact feeling. I feel like their quest usually never ask for items that are super expensive or I never felt their payoff was very tiny. Like they give at least like almost the same exact amount if you gave them 20k~30k items but now they barely give any. Like 4k, 8k or lower. At this point, I always start with Quentin so I can smoothly go alphabetically when questing, LOL.

with quentin i do agree their amulet output is less then desirable (not to mention the added rng of if the mage will give a tome). my strat with them is to not go over combined 20k sp. i really wish there was more profit but the moment i see a 2014 item, a carved pumpkin, or a lumi ornament i just skip. least favourite quest giver, for sure, for the simple fact that their prices vary wildly and the draw to them (amulets) are oddly rare. you'd think giving them a 50k item would net you one, but alas.
Don't get me wrong, I get why you're disappointed, but his quests are also kind of a slippery slope to balance. :/
Quentin's quests are still profitable, just not in the straightforward insert-item-get-SP way. If they made amulet drops more common, amulet prices and tome prices would start dropping, and suddenly boosting a pet (or several pets) to get to T13 becomes a lot easier.
idk, I'm probably biased but I'm okay with Quentin's quests not being as profitable sP-wise. I only do those quests for the mage amulets anyway, then I turn those amulets in and end up making ~3m profit from every tome I get. Yes, RNG is involved, but I still end up making a good chunk more sP than I otherwise would have.
Their quests are a good item sink for holiday items too - they remove junk that would otherwise just keep dropping in price. That's why a lot of the crap you get asked for is 40-50k - a lot of other users bought up the cheaper ones, and afaik 50k is the price cap for requested items on Quentin's quests. If you get asked for something that's over 50k in user shops, odds are that someone bought the cheaper ones up and the site's cache didn't catch up. Had that happen a few times, not fun.
Staff might want to consider expanding the requested item pool a lil to counter that - there's no shortage of stupidly cheap non-restockable items. Or revamp/add some new, fresh items as rewards.
I generally get enough mage amulets to feel like their quests are worth it (there are some times when I get streaks of no amulets at all, and those suck), but you're right that it's frustrating to spend ~50k sP on a quest and get crap. :/ Honestly, it'd sting a little less if Quentin gave out a bigger variety of items, like old holiday stuff, retired items, etc.
