Maybe now that my post is the one with the list I won't lose it and ask for it once every 2 weeks :P

[edit] Also I was really hoping to not see Eclipse, Coelli, Mechalag, or Hustler on this list thanks for ruining 2/4 of those.

not cool. Of all the challengers the one I was hoping the most to not be there was mechalag.

For a big pet hes just another challenger. For a small pet ever time you get a mechalag your time to finish BQs multiplies. It's so much better now with preselect, but it was miserable before that. Now its just bad.

No other challenger is that much of a time sink at any other point.

true, but maybe they're saving removing challengers for the next time they shake things up? issues aside, i'm just thankful for the variety

& as for your last point -- the cake is just as hideous for my larger pet as mechalag is for tiny pets. we're all equally plagued by time-sink challengers on this blessed day p:

Is the cake time consuming because its hard or because it has 10x as much HP as any of the other challengers in the same level.

Mechalag isn't difficult, its just time consuming (as the pun in its name would suggest). But if BQs would take tou 5 minutes to complete in total, getting 1 mechalag used to literally make it take 10, 2 would make it take 15, 3 would make it take 20. It was awful before preselect.

Even if they moved him to a boss teir so he couldn't just crush your spirits showing up 4x in one day.

Eclipse/Coeli I hate because no heal on early challengers confuses new players.

And hustler I don't have a game mechanic reason to hate him, hes just annoying lol. Although the fact that there is an RNG way to beat him wasted so much of my time back in the day when I was almost able to beat him lol. Kinda similar to mechalag, but not as bad.

For a smaller pet, the cake hits pretty hard and can disable your weapons with its curse.

Surge is probably the worst in the level 21-24 tier, especially for a tier 8 pet who could beat everyone else.

After this list is done, voting on which challenger to add or remove as a miniboss could be a bonus round.

Yeah the biting cake is going to be a serious problem for people that don't already have a mid T12 pet. The gap between him and the other level 26-29 challengers in difficulty is significant

The biting cake has stealing, blessings and freezing disabled. He also has two copies of "death by chocolate" that disables both weapons. He is also heavy on dark, magma and earth icons

hmm if its really mid t12 that seems like its probably too high up, makes sense when you put it like that.

I thought Surge was one of the easier challengers in that tier, not the easiest, but I was beating surge before saggi if I remembered correctly.

I guess my main thing would be that difficulty shouldn't be something that kicks something out of a tier (although Biting Cake sounds like a significant leap compared to anything else thats been in BQs in general if it really needs a mid t12)

He's not necessarily mid T12, but you need the equipment a mid T12 pet would have. You could beat him with an unevenly trained T11, but you need health in the 4.8k+ range and the right set up.

[edit] The effort in order to do so takes a lot longer than the amount of time you want to spend on one BQ challenger.

King capsaisin seems like a wall in T11-14 compared to some of the soft ball challengers they used to have like pete.

I'll bet as people adapt it will end up a mid t11 challenger. What equipment from 12 do you think people need?

Maybe not, I think I just got crit hit the first time I tried it.

Surge is kind of like Mechalag in that tier. It's easier to beat it with more AP and better scrolls. But still, its blocks, heals, freezes, and boosting are annoying. Saggi is easier to beat than Surge with a high hp build when using a Malice, otherwise he's also rather difficult for that tier.

Also, Crawbeast is possibly around miniboss difficulty for its tier. It's still debatable if it should be moved up or not. The Unstable Snow Fairy is somewhat easier than it.

ME+Cronus is ideal. You could maybe try USS, but even that still requires you to beat mutant scientist 10 times if you don't buy from shops. If you're lucky and blast both death by chocolate, ME+earth block could work
