So I voiced myself about it in the comments with no proper discussion, so I decided to open the thread.
So there's this achievement in the battle section:
Gelatin Hero
Slay the Hydragellos!
You used to get it if you did the last hit to the Hydragellos, but now this system has been changed to what we have now, so the situation is that no one can get this achievement for 2 wars in a row.
So I would like to know:
I can understand that there are like around (maybe) 5 users with this exclusive achievement, so they may feel bad about it, so I would like to hear their opinion about handing it to new 143 people.
I would be happy to hear from the team and find a solution for this achievement, either retired it or give it :)
I'd suggest instead on the last day of the event (too late for this time, but moving forward), to take his health down to some easily killable number sometime randomly on the last day and still let someone earn the achievement.

I should add that I don't see any problem with having super rare/difficult achievements. If there was some kind of reward for having completed X% of achievements or something, I'd see the motivation to make them all more obtainable - but there isn't - so what's the harm? There's no shortage of other achievements to work towards in the meantime. Plus, changing the criteria of an achievement after the fact seems disingenuous.
tbh I feel that anyone who decides to endure the mind-numbing grind to get 15m (likely to be more next time) damage deserves the achievement too.
If that's not possible due to coding restrictions, retire it and add a new Hero achievement for future wars?
I think this is the only achievement where users are required to flock like crazy to try and get it in an incredibly limited timespan, and only one person can ever get it during a gelatin war. Compared to the rest of Subeta's achievements this is one of the oddest and most unique ones on the list. It's also one of the most ridiculously impossible ones to try and get.
Here's an odd thought that crossed my mind: there's a tiny chance that the same person who got the killing blow last time gets it in a current war. What happens then? Who gets the Hero achievement in this situation?
I wouldn't mind seeing it be awarded to anyone who is able to earn a Core, since doing that much damage is kind of like slaying it. That's still pretty tough to do for a lot of people.
But I wouldn't be opposed to some other ideas either. I do agree though, that if there are no plans to make it achievable again (and none of these suggestions get implemented) then it should be properly retired.

Randomly give it to one user who hits whatever stupid high number the "core reward" will be next war and/or one user who did it this time? Then, not so many users get it & it stays a rare achievement? :d [sub][sub][sub]even though every single one of them is worth the same amount anyway.[/sub][/sub][/sub]
All achievements should be obtainable. If there is no way to get a specific one (due to retirement/changes/events) then they should not be counted towards your Achievement total. Perhaps there could be a (earned but not counted) section for retired ones. Frustrates me so much that newer users are not on a level playing field.
Change the "show" to retired and go to the survival section and the name is Subject Zero :) And there's the Zombie 4 Eva - Purchase 1 item from the Zombie Den with a 2009 strain of the virus, after the cure has been released. It can also be unretired, we all have at least one 2009 skin now lol
I agree, retired shouldn't count, new users can't even reach the last place on the high score for example..
I hate achievements that aren't obtainable. It's like they sit there, taunting me. :P Personally, I'd be fine with retiring it, but would like a different one to aim for. Alternatively, it should be given to those that earn a Core, but not this year, as I don't think it's fair to make it retroactive. There are people who would have spent more time on it if they knew an achievement was at stake.
Give it to overall DMG.
I agree something needs to be done going forward. Agree with retiring it since with the current system it can't be earned.
I don't really like changing it to everyone who rakes up enough damage to earn the core, simply because its supposed to be very rare and only 1 person should be winning it per jelly war.
Either or idea - making it killable the last day, or the highest overall damage - work for me.
