So, I was searching for available pet names earlier... and I got distracted as one will when they see cute/cool pets and just want to admire other's pets. I noticed one of the many people I looked at had a pet named 69. As in the number digits. I had a pet idea with another number in digit form. But when I try to site search it, it won't let me because it's not three characters long.
Is it really not possible to have a two character pet name? If so, how did they manage it? (grandfathered in?)
I don't know off hand if it's currently possible. The shortest I have is 3 and my pet slots are full so I can't view the create a pet page, but after you choose a species, the requirements for the name should be listed (I know it lists the non-alphanumeric chracters allowed, for example).
You can also look up a specific name with this link to see if it's available: https://subeta.net/pets/name
I think you're conflating the limitations of the search with the limitations of a name.
When I go to the pet creation page, it says:
It doesn't say there is a character minimum or maximum. I do believe there is a maximum limit, though I'm not sure what it is (the most I've had in a name for one pet was 16). I think the minimum is just one.
The search may need three characters to do its job, but you can use the link Darkrai provided above to search a different way. Heck, that's the way I usually look for names myself, partly because I keep forgetting the search exists, but also because you'll be able to see right away on a pet's profile if they're on an inactive account or not.
you can definitely have pet names less than 3! I have the pets A and Q. I created A less than 2 years ago.
:) Thank you for the link!
Thank you for pointing that out to me . I usually use the site search so I really didn't realize. ^^
Thank you for the verification . And your pets are so cool!

I was thinking of making a fan pet for 26 from the old Dinotopia tv miniseries from years ago. ^^" Unfortunately the digit version of the name is taken it seems. (Maybe 'Twenty-six?...)
Thank you again! :D
