So I was doing bug catching yesterday, but I didn't find the bug in question until today. After showing the bug to the NPC, I clicked on her again and I had the option to look for a new bug. Is this a glitch?

It didn't used to work that way. I don't think the change is a glitch. Maybe instead it's one of the stealth improvements that is doing.
