I haven't been on in a long time I only have popped in and out from time to time and hadn't really explored till today I didn't know that the Rift had been created. I sent my pet in and I got an (oh no it swallowed your pet) Did I really mess up and lose him?

Nope, you didn't lose your pet! It'll come back in a day or so, but it might look a little different. ;)

thank you so much.. I made him a long time ago and wouldn't like if I had lost him from my own dumbness.

It doesn't matter how he turns out I will turn him back into an Archan I think. Sisko is his name if you wasn't to see him

It might also help to know that you can't create/adopt another pet to fill in your pet's slot while they're in the rift.
