Hair + Head layer instead of Hat + Head layer?

I really, really wish we had a layer just for hair. It's confusing which items fall into "hat" and which ones fall into "head" as it is right now and it's really difficult to find just hairs or just non-hair items that go on your head.
I know this is probably not something that will be implemented, but I can wish, yes?
I want to say something like this was hinted for the new wardrobe? I know it's something the item admins have been working on, but we've had radio silence for months regarding the new wardrobe.
There was definitely talk of making hair all on its own layer.

One huge project I have in my near future is going over every layer with a fine tooth comb. I'm starting a spreadsheet already and will work on it with some other staffers (and probably users!) to make sure we have a pretty good baseline for what goes where. Especially with the hat/hair/head this is abundantly obvious, but I'm going to do what I can to have a good guideline and do what I can to even everything else. That project will be first, but then I'll tackle other layers for sure. There will still likely be a fair amount left to interpretation as not everything will fit *perfectly*, but I'm definitely going to do what I can do get things in better shape! [/quote]

It's probably been buried because it's not stickied, but there is an old but very good post on the topic of layer-regularization and layer-sanity made by . I wonder if anyone with a GA has posted a reminder of this thread over in the Beta thread for Wardrobe 4 yet, just in case has forgotten.
