There is a way to morph a pet into a bumbus! :D

The downside is that you need to be invited. I'm assuming you already have access to the Blue Building? If you've been "summoned" by a RE, you can visit the Bumbus queen. She will ask for three items of varying worth - if it's too expensive this time around, you can just wait until the next time you're summoned (mine is currently asking me for three 70k items, so not bad at all).

I don't remember if she lets you choose which pet gets bumbified or if it's your active pet, so unless someone else can confirm, you might want to make your active pet the one to be transformed just in case. Once you submit the items she asks for, she will turn your pet into a bumbus.

The pet will stay the color they were before they were bumbified, provided that is a color that exists for the species.

[Edit] If you don't have a bumbus queen quest and you don't want to wait, you can also create your own bumbus at any time. :)

Oh darn. I think that's the only one you can't get on your own - you have to get it from an RE. :(

I do have access to the BB - if you'd like, I could create you a bumbus or transform a pet from the pound and then transfer them over to you. :)
