Very disappointed that Bird Watching wasn't reactivated this spring. Has it been permanently deactivated?

Will Bug Catching be back for summer, or is that also not being done anymore?

I enjoyed these dailies and would like to see them make a comeback too. I'd love to see new species of bugs and birds. Also, new categories of things to collect: fungi, plants/trees/flowers, rocks/minerals, other wildlife in addition to birds. These are the sorts of things that make Subeta feel like an actual world.

i didn't even notice that bird catching didn't come back :c i hope bug catching does... i heard once that we were maybe going have leaf collecting in the autumn, i wonder if that ever made it past the idea stage.

Though new bugs/birds are fun, they aren't necessary. I would hope the quest/game would be reactivated yearly even if there were no new items to catch.

yeah, definitely remember that frustration and agree that Vesnali should have the higher priority.

Why not do bird watching at other times of year too? Birds can be seen year round, and some real life bird species have different plumage during winter. Winter variations of existing birds would be neat to see.

I live in a town where people come from all over just to watch birds in the spring. You can see them in the winter but not as many, and there is fall migration too, but it's never as big. It's spring time that tends to attract people to birdwatch.

As annoying as it could become, maybe the time is here to make flowers a random event, rather than a floating item.

I like playing easter-egg-hunt to find floaters. It isn't that I hate the idea of making them REs, but if you do make them REs then there are some coveted REs that will be drowned out. Either way someone will be unhappy. It's shifting the problem around.

I'm not really sure why having a really short bird-watching season is a problem, or two bird-watching seasons one before and one after Vesnali. Are they hard to turn on and off? Is there an Achievement that says you gotta catch them all in one year? While there are folks who grab one for their minion zoo, they aren't superduper popular that last years' birds have increased in value all that much, so their "market value" is dependent pretty much on the event happening.

This is not a popular opinion I'm sure, but Vesnali doesn't need to be two weeks. I'm pleased that the price of Vesnali Coins went down not because I think they SHOULD be cheap, but out of my own greed. Let them find their own value.

There's an achievement for grabbing one from eight different regions. If birding season was say, just two weeks, then you should have plenty of time to complete the achievement.

But is it really that big of a competition if you have birds and floating flowers at the same time? You have to opt in for birds, and once you find the bird, you're good for the day. If people only want flowers, they don't have to talk to the NPC that gives you the quest. If people want birds, it shouldn't impact their ability to find flowers for too long, and you can buy the bird if you're stuck.

not every user thinks of that. :) They want to do their dailies or find flowers while they're going about, and sometimes it takes a while to get the bird. Even if we put it in bold in the news post that you can buy the bird if you want, people still ignore it / don't read.

To me it isn't the point or the fun to buy the bird. I don't use the CSS that boxes is and sticks it in a corner. I don't complain if I don't find it because I choose not to buy.

The flowers happen whether or not you choose to do any birding, and the odds of getting one or the other don't change with each "something is floating" event you get. It's like flipping a coin heads or tails, just because you got nine tails doesn't mean the chance of getting tails the next time is different from fifty percent. Only your odds of getting a flower instead of a bird is much higher than that.

every single time there has been birds/bugs and floaters both active at the same time, its been sheer torture to find the birds/bugs. It completely takes the fun out of a minor, fun little activity. After the first day of both being active (because of course I forget), I just stop doing the minor activity, even if I don't need the main floaters, because it gets so annoying.

Yes, you can buy (or even pull one out of your minion zoo) the bird/bug, but then what's the point of playing, if, like me, you just like collecting stuff?

Maybe bird watching should be a summer event...we have July and August where nothing usually goes on, other than the occasional event (and we haven't had pekaboo for like 5 years or whatever)

I'm disappointed too, mostly because I'm so used to routines and I wondered for a while if you would skip on both this year, and it seems kind of unfair to me to skip the birds but not the bugs (Just a sort of OCD I have about it, my own rules and stuff for how I think things should be), but didn't we have bird watching in 2017 and 2018 after Vesnali had been moved? Or was that not an issue before because it was shorter?

I would suggest having it in Autumn, but then there's the floating pumpkins. In fact, if you're thinking of doing a similar game in Autumn, that might not work since Morostide and Fireside both use floating items. Maybe it's a coding thing that needs something done about it? I don't know.

It would have been nice if we were warned about the bird watching. Just a notice or something that said "No bird watching this year, we're working on a way to make it not clash with the floating Vesnali flowers too much" or something like that. I'm just very used to routines and usually this website is good about telling us if things aren't happening or if they're being delayed (Delaying the monthly collection in April to the 2nd in favour of Elwood Day comes to mind), and I like to be warned if things are going to be different from how I expected. I don't like to use being Autistic as an excuse, but people like me are known for being used to things being a certain way and sometimes we get frustrated when it isn't without being told why.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, doesn't spring officially start in late March? I don't think Masquerade has any floating items, does it? The bird watching could be done in April?
