my friend got 3 already after ~10 posts, but i've posted almost 100 times and haven't gotten one. is there something i'm missing? are there any requirements or is it all luck?

Are you sure you haven't gotten one? That sounds like...incredibly bad luck.

I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to it, but it seems like you would've gotten something by now.

Also they go by different names - they're also called Forum Tickets and you can see how many you have in the currency page, or at this shop.

I used to get around 1 forum point per 10 posts. But for the past couple of months, I've been getting them more like 1 per 100 posts. I track my posts and forum points daily because of a forum group I have so this is not a vague impression or guess. Most of my group members have also been having very bad luck with FPs.

It sounds like there's quite a bit of variability going on. This is not typical for Forum Points.

Once upon a time, staff made the rate at which Quest Points drop vary. They divided the userhip up into groups, and some got a slower drop rate and some got a higher drop rate. They admitted that they were deliberately doing this to test things out. After a week or two they would change things around. Switching of users from one group to another with different drop rates of Quest Points was also something they did.

The last time I did a count and statistical analysis on Forum Points wsa years ago, and it was one in twenty then. During Vesnali I was dumping an accumulated stash of two years' worth of flowers, and it seemed to me I was getting a lot more and now I have 250 of them. Perhaps the reported one in ten was was happening to me then. Now after the event they have become pretty rare for me. Since I have so many I haven't really tracked it though.

I keep track of currency to opportunistically see what the currency speculators are arbing. The currency for Forum Points are called Raffle Tickets. Typically after a holiday event where there's a ton of posting, the price of Raffle Tickets drops below 1MsP, sometimes as little as 700KsP. They're now at around 1.2MsP, which is high for this currency IMO. You don't have to take my word for this, look at the chart in SubetaLodge. Either folks are anticipating that one of the Horns and Roses items will be FP-priced, they've become more rare overall, or someones have more sP what they know what to do with and they're having a little fun..

It could be that they're doing the same thing with Forum Points as they were with Quest Points.

, I just joined in January, so I don't have long term observations to back this up, but I feel like the 1:10 drop rate was what I was getting when I first joined. I think maybe since the forum box event during Masq I've been having the low drop rate. I don't think I've gotten a single FP since then - maybe one at the most.

Yes, that's about the time I noticed the reduced rate too.

I've noticed the drop in Forum Points. I rarely post due to time limitations but I would still get one or two every month or so. I put the lack of points down to this for some time post but recently it seems to be more than that. Is there a board where we can test this? Just... maybe post a number say? To keep track of the number of posts we have between each point? Would that be allowed?

I've noticed that it seems to be random with no rhyme or reason. I can spend a couple of days finding topics I can make fairly long posts in and get nothing. The next day I might just report what I get from various games and earn a point.
