Since my last post about

Anozira, we've made some pretty great strides. She's at Tier 7 right now and these are her stats:

Level: 301 Strength: 756 Defense: 753 Speed: 749 Health: 1,302 Intelligence: 1,262 AP: 78

I'm trying to decide what my next big purchase should be in regards to weapons/scrolls. I'd like something that would be good for at least a few more tiers. We also need something to help us get past level 20 of Battle Quests and to fight medium-level opponents in 200 + nth battles. (We fight medium opponents mostly for a different reason.)

Here is our current weapon set:

And our scroll set:

I also stock up on the free dark potions we get from the medium battlers - it's how we survive Battle Quests 15-20.

These are the weapons I'm currently considering based on previous recommendations, but I'm open to other suggestions as well. I don't have the sP on hand at the moment; I'm willing to save up or to sacrifice some of my CSC for whatever I need, but I'll probably only be able to afford one or two for a while. That's why I need advice. :)

Thanks in advance!

I would definitely pick up the aftershocks scroll or ocean currents. The icons aftershocks blocks is better for BQs, but ocean currents is very good against the forj where you need to do as much water damage as possible. For shriek of despair, I would only start buying those if you have enough AP to equip multiple and enough sP to buy multiple. You could also just wait for morostide and hope for some drops from nightlady. They also tend to be cheaper in shops at that time.

As for weapons, tier 7 is that awkward tier where there aren't many good long term weapons to invest in. I would get the soma tablets and these weapons for T7 that are cheap:

Worthy investment: - only at the right price!

I would only buy if you have multiple battle pets that are still at lower tiers that can use it.

Arrow Harpoon is great in tier 7, especially if you trained evenly, and its pretty cheap.

If money is tight, RIWOD is a solid investment. It an get outclassed by other weapons in T8 and T9, but they are expensive or only heal for 7-8%. RIWOD is a solid budget purhase.

Wesker and I were talking about trident in another form. I think its overpriced now. You can get better weapons than it now.

I've been meaning to answer this for a week, but it got put on the back-burner.

I actually used your guide to narrow it down to those scrolls! :) I think I'll definitely pick up an Aftershocks, since I'm trying to get the BQs done every day for the EXP. It's been a week since I've posted last and we're already almost halfway to Tier 8, so I imagine by Morostide we'll probably be past Tier 10 (though that's way to far in the future to say anything with certainty). Would the Shriek of Despair still be useful in later tiers?

Thanks - I think I still would like RIWOD to at least replace my somewhat-useless rainbow quill as a backup healer. Actually at this point, it can replace the Amulet of Life I still have in my armory even though I hardly ever use it. My point being, I have plenty of space for other weapons as well. :)

Based on your guys' advice, I think those are two good purchases for now, and then I can revisit this when we hit Tier 8. Or would you recommend waiting for Tier 9 for my next major weapons purchase?

shriek of despair will be useful if you can equip multiple for chain freezing. If you can only freeze a couple of times, or only have 1 freezing scrolls, it's better to go with healing/defensive scrolls. I would only equip it after equipping your healers/defensive scrolls if you have AP left over.

I wouldn't make any spendy purchase until T10 unless it's to pick up or more scrolls. There are affordable options in T8/T9 that will get you by until T10

[edit] That should have read as don’t plan on spending a lot of sP until T10

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Right now I get 2-3 rounds of regular freezing from the frost thorn and my modded other weapons, but having more freezing options would be helpful, especially against opponents like The Thief Hustler when you don't know what he'll throw at you.

On the tough opponents that have a lot of HP or generally the battles that last many turns, I’ve found that it’s better to have healing scrolls like gotf and blockers than freezing. The freezing is nice if you could do something like freeze, hit, freeze, hit, freeze, hit, win. Otherwise just two turns doesn’t allow me to do enough damage or heal enough. Some opponents also have protection against freezing. If you only have 1 or 2, it’s better to equip them after you equip all your other defensive stuff if you still have left over AP and think of them as a last resort.

Keep in mind, the freezers take away health from your pet and can leave you worse off if your opponent hits hard

The freezing scrolls take away health? I haven't noticed that happen with the weapons.

What would you recommend against someone like the Cursed Effigy that disallows healing?

[Edit]I was just rereading something you wrote: we can equip multiples of the same scroll at once? Does that work for weapons too?

Yes! Psycho and shriek both heal your pet for -3%. If you have weapons with a % heal on them, then it just means they will heal you for 3% less. If you use the freezing scroll however with non healing weapons, then it will damage you for 3%. I don’t recommend freezing scrolls at low tiers for this reason - they can kill pets that don’t have enough health. It’s better to get healers and blockers at low tiers and then you already have them at high tiers against freezing disabled opponents.

Oh my yes, a majority of scrolls are OPB so you want to equip multiple copies. You just can’t equip multiple copies of the same infinite use scroll (but why would you want to do that anyway). Some weapons allow you to equip more than one copy, like the ballista, but most do not.

Cursed effigy cannot be frozen as well. I use cobalt eternal scrolls for him and as well as sancturia exodin scrolls (make these at the shrine, don’t buy from shops). I also recommend having a pet with higher health to help you last longer. Evenly trained pets tend to have a hard time with guys like him because they don’t have enough health

Oof, that's good to know.

Also, I guess I won't go out and buy 3 more Phoenix Quills then. ;) That did sound a bit too good to be true.

Anozira has almost twice as much health as everything else thanks to EXP, but it's still not enough to break into level 21 of the BQs. We'll keep working at it. :)

Yeah you can only equip one of those. Yeah level 21+ can be hard for T7 pets if you don't have the right equipment.

Pylot is a similar build and has only managed wins on the gate keeper and cursed effigy. Sanddraggon, saggi and GE are too hard atm with the equipment I have, but I haven't tried recently.
