I have an active quest from the Bumbus Queen. It says if I complete it, she will turn one of my pets into a Bumbus. I'm not interested in changing any of my pets at this time. If I complete the quest, will I be forced to change one of my pets? Is there any other reward to this, or should I just click the "give up" button on this quest since I'm not interested in changing a pet right now? Thanks.

At the temple, there is a poem called "Loss" carved into the stone.
It has three words, but the poet has scratched them out.
You cannot read Loss, only feel it.

I'm pretty sure the only reward is being able to change one of your pets into a bumbus. So you can click the give up button if you want, but you can also just leave it alone. All that will happen if you give up is it will be possible for you to get another quest in an RE. You can just ignore it and let the quest sit there without completing it, and it won't affect you at all.

AFAIK, transforming one of your pets is the only prize the queen gives. If you're not interested in doing this, you can "give up" the quest or just ignore it completely.

Those REs that say something like "a group of bumbuses summons you to the blue building" are what trigger the quest, so even if you give this one up, if you change your mind later, it won't be too long before you get another one. Which you can also feel free to ignore. :)

There's an Achievement for Having a Bumbus Pet. If you have the extra petslot, you could adopt any pet from Adopt R Us, convert it with your quest, and then after the Achievement triggers put it back in? I did that so save having to come up with a name and can confirm there's no other reward than having a Bumbus. I'm sure to the mind of the Bumbus Queen this by itself is sufficiently grand. because I'm a dope who confuses color for species

The Bumbus Queen's conversion squad used to happen all the time like the Ice King challenge. It was liked by many when it was new and users wanted to convert their pets inatead of creating new ones, but soon drove people crazy so they toned it down a little. I've been deliberately going there and rejecting them to see just how often they show up now it's every few months for me.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder if they show up less often if you reject them. Because I just ignore them completely, and I definitely see it more often than every few months. (I would say at least once a month? Maybe every few weeks?)

oh that's a good point, they could get mad. So if you don't deliberately go there to reject them, I wonder if they forget their original quest items and try again? I wonder if the items the Bumbus Queen asks for will change if you do that. Sometimes her price is three 70KsP items, but because of the rarities she asks for it can get pretty insanely high in price to complete the quest. Rather than rejecting it because it's too pricey and having to wait forever (if you actually want to convert one of your pets to Bumbus) maybe it's quicker just to set back and wait for another offer.

I guess I am an idiot then, because I can't find it either. There's a whole mess of them for the different colors, but none for species.

gotcha, wasn't sure if there was one for completing that quest but it wasn't under pets or quests so i guess there isn't one.
