(pls ignore my HA i'm still trying to find something easter-y so if anyone has a suggestion of a top that would go well, lmk) I was looking around the forum, but most posts regard CW/CSC, so I was wondering if we had a cwc-free topic about must-have wardrobe items?

There isn't a thread specifically dedicated to this topic as far as I'm aware, but I can make some recommendations! I'd also suggest scrolling through this topic for eyes, lots of really nice suggestions! what eyes do you guys use?
I'll split up my recommendations by layer/general groupings for easy access~ There's quite a lot, so I'm gonna post this and continue editing so that I don't lose any progress LOL so bear with me!
body
For the body, I'd HIGHLY recommend picking up as many of these as you can!
I use at least one of these items on nearly every single HA I make. They're very versatile and can give your avatar a nice pop of color or a unique hue!
BODY BLUSHES
CURIOUS DOLLS You can layer these over each other, as well as the different base skin tones for a lot of fun combinations!

I'm lumping together any shoes/socks in this category, whether they're technically in the 'Feet' layer or not!
BASIC FLATS
There are a TON of recolors of the basic flats, but they're a very versatile set, so I'd recommend picking these up in your favorite colors! You can search "Basic flats" in the wardrobe or with the site search function for the full list, but it would take a lot of typing to list every color myself, haha.
DECALS [item=vinyl shoe decals: leopard spots] [item=vinyl shoe decals: white stripes][item=vinyl shoe decals: black dots][item=vinyl shoe decals: argyle print] [item=vinyl shoe decals: black stripes][item=vinyl shoe decals: black swirls][item=vinyl shoe decals: zebra stripes] [item=vinyl shoe decals: white dots] These are meant to be layered over your shoes, and are super fun to experiment with! They also layer perfectly with the Basic Flats. :) As an example, I'm currently wearing the pink floral decal over a pair of baby pink flats!
SOCKS Like the basic flats, these ankle and mid-calf socks come in lots of other colors! Thought not quite as many.

TIGHTS Another favorite of mine, and light the basic flats, there's a bunch more colors! They're also fun to layer with each other or other tights for fun colors and patterns! I'm currently sporting white tights over the

If you like using backgrounds, I find these really helpful!
Sometimes your avatar will get a little lost in a complicated background, so if you're having that issue, layering one of these over the background but behind your avatar makes your avatar pop!
FIREFLIES
TUMBLED GEMS
CUTOUTS These are hard to see just from item previews, but they're basically like white sheets with little cutouts. Layering them over backgrounds gives you fun shapes and patterns, like the diamond shape my avatar is in, and the little trees on either side!
LIGHTS An honorable mention for these, because I just adore them.

LOL, you're so welcome!! I'm more than happy to help! :) There are a lot of wardrobe staples that took me forever to stumble upon when I was just getting started! Updated my post with a bunch of face items too, more to come~!
There are basic flats as shoes and basic tights as stocking/hose. With layering and decals these can create multiple looks on their own or under just about anything.
NPC Esther's shop has lots of eastery stuff and the flowers are floating right now. While the stuff from them isn't basic wardrobey, it's free and can help you create some simple looks.

Other things come down to taste, rather than being a must-have imo, but if you want more help with finding more specific pieces you like, I'd be happy to help! Another quick tip that will help you in your search for items you like-! If you see someone else wearing an item you really like but don't know how to find, right click their avatar and open the image in a new tab. The URL will be something like this (using my own as an example)

From here, copy the first sequence of numbers, in my case, that's 607809. This is the userID. Once you have that, you can add it to the end of this URL to see that user's shared avatars! https://subeta.net/shared.php?userid=NUMBERHERE More often than not, they'll have their current avatar saved in there somewhere, and if you click it, you can preview all the items that avatar has on. :) It's very handy for finding new items and expanding your wardrobe!

Thank you so so so much for your help! I'll try to get all the things you listed to at least have a good grasp on my wardrobe. I found some threads but most are about csc and I still don't understand the in game economy enough to dip my fingers, as a f2p player, in the paid currency.
