Every Subeta event has its pros and cons and I always have fun collecting all of the amazing themed items. But I think Vesnali is the best event because the mechanics for getting the currency isn't as time-sucking as other events, at least the ones I'm familiar with. Forgive me if I've forgotten another better event mechanic, I think I've missed keelhauliday and alegarten like four years in a row. :'P But Morostide, Masquerade, and Survival all have mechanics where you must click on another user every X minutes. You basically have to to generate currency.

Vesnali limits how much currency we generate in a way more organic way; you are limited only by how many floating flowers you find. No 3 minute wait between giving someone a flower. So if you want you can play subeta as you normally would to collect flowers, hold flowers in your inventory for days, and then post on the "give 10 flowers to the user above" thread when you actually have time. The bouquet building is another great way to limit coins being generated, by giving the flowers secondary non-coin use, and providing incentive for people to sell the more expensive ones rather than turn them in. But it's totally optional so users can decide exactly what they want to prioritize.

I really appreciate this, as opposed to posting on a "dance with the user above" thread every three minutes for hours trying to rack up enough currency. Many of those other events become a direct equation of time=money, but Vesnali is so much more organic and I really love that.

If there are any changes planned or new events in the works, or an opportunity comes up for new events later, I think it would be nice if any user or forum interaction is set up in a similar way and avoids using timers if possible. Vesnali is the best for these reasons and I look forward to it every year, thanks for crafting such a great holiday.

(Oh, also, thanks for making the new bouquet combos only require x1 flower each this year, it makes a huge difference lol)

I 100% agree with this! As someone who has limited amounts of time I can spend most days a week, the mechanics of this event make it easier for me to multi-task and still obtain currency. It's my favorite! :)

The only nitpick I have is that Vesnali is still time = money. The more time you have to spend on Subeta, the more flowers you're going to find. It's just how it is. If you have 8 hours to play Subeta and restock, you're gonna find a lot more flowers than the person who only pops in for 30 mins to get their dailies and maybe do Shinwa quests.

That aside, I agree. In terms of game mechanics, Vesnali was always a bit more interesting to me than Morostide. There is definitely much less pressure and it feels like there's a lot less incentive to stress & aggressively grind to get what you want - I find the flowers along the way. Just by questing, restocking, playing the game. I don't have to camp on someone's profile trick-or-treating, or refresh the Dance/Kiss links to get the stuff I want. I can sell the bouquet flowers for a nice chunk of sP if I don't need them. Now that it actually lasts 2 weeks, it's feeling like a really chill, easygoing holiday.

Fireside is along the same vein as Vesnali, only that, well... It's very repetitive and dull with the item rewards, so I don't really bother tossing things in after the first 3 days-ish. I just hoard the rreign floaties.

We do not speak of Alegarten (or Neugarten), it's basically a themed sP-sink "holiday". Buy all the things, fight the cooldown timers and the short holiday duration. Keelhauliday is primarily a restocker holiday, the rest of us get bits and bobs from quests & vending.

Soyeah. Vesnali is becoming the chillest holiday. And after all the kissing and dancing madness, I am a-ok with this. 👌

That's a fair criticism though I'd say that also applies to every aspect of Subeta, in that you have to be on the site to play any of it. :P Subeta as a game is still time = money (I guess that's a criticism of petsites and MMOs in general, for me at least) so I wouldn't hold it against Vesnali specifically. To me the significant factor is that I can play Subeta exactly how I would anyway and still get currency, whether it's 30 minutes or 8 ours, so it doesn't not take a shift in habits to participate.

Gosh yeah the 2 weeks thing makes a massive difference too... huge thanks to them for extending it and I hope that's a regular thing.

And I forgot Fireside existed hahaha... yeah I agree that the bonfire is a similarly good idea that isn't based on a timer, maybe someday the event can get tweaked a lil to be more fun. But it's a nice calm event between the intensity of Morostide posting and the dedication of being online every day of December for Melody's cottage,, so if they tweak it it better not be too draining.

Naw, I'm not holding it against anything. x) Just saying that it's a constant thing for Vesnali as it is for other events (& other games in general, like you've said). I agree that this event is a lot more casual and relaxed than Masq or Morostide. You don't feel pressured to do The Thing You Don't Usually Do to obtain currency, it just... happens as you roll along the site as usual.

Like... I have a friend with superbad anxiety and he was so nervous about posting on the forums to get bites in order for his zombie infection to even start. For Survival, interacting with others is something you're forced to do if you want to get zombie skins. Another friend was worried about managing to make enough currency for holidays because she has a full time job with really odd hours. Another friend of mine barely plays because real life is heckin' hectic for her, but I can still give them both flowers and we can all get the currency to spend when we find the time to actually play. So neither of them are entirely left out and they won't feel pressured to cut some important IRL thing off just to squeeze in time for Subeta to accept event things (looking @ u, dancing). So yeah. Vesnali is prettymuch the chillest holiday now and that makes me happy!

Also YEP, the extension to 2 weeks is a godsend. 😌

Ah I see, yeah agree to all that. Yeah, the amount of social interaction in some of the events could use some workarounds. That's where I like the "trick r treak at a random house" button for Morostide, makes sense in the context of the event and we don't have to go interact with anyone to participate.

I'd love if we could drop accepting invites to dance... I get that proposing to dance is part of the role play of the whole event, but it's so much excessive clicking lol. Like there's a clicks to currency ratio and masquerade is the worst one of them all. Your ability to get currency not only relies on making sure you have time to dance but that the other person has time to accept the proposal. It's no wonder that's the currency I end up with the least of.

@ Mackenzi I would not be mad at all if there was a thing in site options where you could set dance invites to be automatically accepted, but I don't know how well that'd work with Boudewijn (I prob misspelled that SORRY) and his duel challenges. For Masq, I just bookmark the "accepted dance!" page and refresh it until I get the error that I have no more invites left. Tedious? Yep. Efficient? Also yep. Heavily dependent on how nice Subeta servers wanna be? Heck yep.

I get that Subeta wants us to be social and interact and make new friendships! But also... sometimes I really don't want to be social because offline life has sucked all the joy of holding a conversation out of me. Instead, let me offer you a flower in these trying times.

Also YES @ random options. Wish we had a random flower option. Dancing is harder to randomize because how do you even filter it? You're not guaranteed to get an active user so you missed out on a potential 2-7 trinkets (this can pile up fast).

Survival is a mixed bag because you NEED currency for Louis, but Skitters requires SP which can be made all year, so it depends.

I don't like the Vesnali items as much as I like Survival, or Masquerade items. Yes, the event is better done, but there is so little I actually want to buy :(

Agreed 100%. Vesnali is one of my favourite holidays (if not my absolute favourite) because the mechanics are great, the items are great, etc. I love being able to collect flowers and give them to people whenever I feel like it. I also seem to get a LOT of coins VERY quickly.

I will love you forever if you trade me:

Vesnali used to stress me out the most. I don't like leaving it up to random chance when there's still so much stuff I need from the shop for achievements and collections. It's better with two weeks, and I have a lot more friends now than I did in prior years, but it used to feel down right daunting.

well put, I was just thinking about how nice a change this event is to the past couple we've had. I just wish my aesthetic lined up with it more like it does morostide and survival, since I actually have the event currency for this one :')

I completely agree! It's not invasive at all into your normal Subeta time besides posting in forums occasionally. You can even wait to rack up a lot of flowers and post on those boards, or use a friend exclusively for flowering. We just pickup flowers doing activities we would normally be doing anyway. The only other time consuming part is buying things from Esther's, but... that's fun! ;D

Vesnali is fine for me....except for the bouquets. I'm collecting them for [pet not found].

I have so much trouble finding the required flowers simply via floating. Cinthia's quests are nice but I haven't been really lucky there either. I'm glad we only need 1 of a certain flower for the new bouquets, but some flowers are used in multiple combos so they're more expensive.

But that's my only gripe. I like the Vesnali items the most out of all the other holiday items.

I just want to point out for users who have time-limitations, but still want to increase their odds of getting flowers, I would definitely invest your online-time doing Cinthia quests. She does not give flowers every single time, but she has given me several flowers (lotuses) needed for bouquets.

i do like vesnali a lot, both for the mechanics and the aesthetic, but for whatever reason it's the only holiday that legitimately overwhelms me, haha? ; ω ;

i think it has to do with trying to both quest and manage my flowers...i end up dumping them all in my shop rather than handing them out because i don't have the concentration to pick through them on the quickstock page. i really wish there was some way to sort quickstock other than alphabetical, maybe by rarity? i don't know, that's my only "complaint" though because i do like how it's so easy to gather currency otherwise

I agree completely, and that's the reason Vesnali is the one event I usually collect currency not only for myself, but to use to gift people in December. I have the worst time with the time mechanics of other events -- I feel like I'm always doing a lot of things at once, and I often forget to keep track of the timers. As for Vesnali, I just play and collect the flowers, then go around forums and other areas I don't use as much daily... and when I'm done with it, I exchange the flowers all at once.

I wish other events were similar... Masquerade is especially hard on me, because not only I have to time the dances, but I also have to accept the dances, which can get pretty hard to manage if you have a lot of notifications. So, even though Masquerade always has my favourite items, I never get enough currency to get all I need.

I really like Vesnali! I only really started gathering tokens a couple days ago and I'm pretty happy with my haul, and the shop items are always adorable. I also collected a few flowers I like for HK's treasure chest/my wardrobe (I only wanted two cheap bouquets so I have no real opinion on them beyond "o pretty"). I think the lack of "you can x in y minutes!" really helps, as others have said. I can just spam click flowers onto people when I have the energy lol.

I like how Vesnali's event is less intense compared to most which suits the tone for this time period. It fits me when I'm busy during the week collecting the flowers and then giving them away when I have more free time.

I usually find that the time between late April to the whole of May quite chaotic in terms of what's happening in the real world (be it essays and deadlines) and I'm super pleased that it's been prolonged to two weeks instead of the one putting more pressure off this intense time so thank you for changing that!
