I'm trying to submit this buuuuut...

I don't understand the slot cost part. Can I myself get a free slot and have other people pay for slots? Or is that not allowed? How do I know what price they must amount to in order for that to work?

If it is allowed, does that mean I have to find people who would want to sponsor/buy this through the slots?

But - I believe, might want a second voice to chime in on this as I'm not totally certain - you will have to pay your own slot and then yes the others can be filled by other people who want to buy your custom wearable. :0

I bookmarked it so I can read back on it easily :) So if I understand it right, the starting cost if I want 10 batches is 5000csc, and if I choose the "unlimited" batches option the starting cost is 1,600csc? How do I fill out my slots in the latter scenario? Because now it sais my name 5 times, do I remove the other four so that it submits blank? I'm just really confused by the username/slot costs form since I submitted it as an unlimited. After that am I free to stock my shop with this item? Putting one in stock costs me 500 csc right?

Question number two: there is no "wig" category when I had to pick one, do I choose the hat or hair accesoiry category? (I think I picked hat)

No problem! Oh, hmm, I'm not entirely sure on that. I'm pretty foggy on the exact prices for submitting items myself, so hopefully someone who's more experienced than I am will come along to help? :( I'm gonna try and hash out all the information I have floating around in my brain in a way that makes sense, uhm--

So the submission fee for a wig is 5000csc, and most wigs I see are sold for 700csc. Each batch is 5 slots, so if all of those slots are filled at 700csc then that would cover 3500 which isn't quite enough. So therefor, I think you would fill those slots with people who wanted to buy your wig, put them all down for 700, and then put yourself down to cover the remainder. I've never submitted a custom wearable myself so all this info comes from what I've read and my attempt at deductive reasoning, lol, so you'll want someone else to back up or correct that! Once that's done the CW would show up on site once everyone has paid for their slots - which they do after receiving an alert on their end, so you wouldn't have to hassle with receiving money from everyone manually. I don't know what happens to unlimited CWs when you aren't choosing direct-to-shop, myself. :0 I don't know if any of that made sense or was helpful, but I hope so! I'm still hoping someone else will come along and correct me if I'm wrong, cause I'm still a CW newbie~

As for the second question, I don't know the answer to that sadly. :(

You need 2500 csc to submit that hair to get 5 copies on site. You can get others to pay the csc for it and get your copy for free. That is totally allowed, especially since you're the artist.

If you would like to get others to slot, you need to post in custom clothing forum and ask people to slot. You determine the cost of the slot. Wigs tend to go for 700 csc however it's up to you. If you get 4 slotters paying 700 each, you won't have to pay for your copy and you would leave your name with 0 next to it while putting down the other 4 slotters with 700 next to theirs and hit "submit with these slots."

Direct to cash shop is an option but it also means you paid csc out of pocket just to get a copy for yourself and get it on site which is not ideal compared to the above option of taking slotters. With the above, you'd actually get a profit of 300 csc and a free copy for yourself but it is dependent on finding 4 people who like the wig to pay to slot on it. Direct to cash shop means your cw goes into your cw shop (here's mine as an example) where you can price it what you want and either lock it or unlock it (locked means you need to send people passwords to buy it like for my item there). You can stop selling it at any point. You can also retire it permanently at any point. If you don't do direct to cash shop, you can order more of your items in chunks of 5 here, the same way you are slotting with the first 5. The bad news is if you do it this way you need 5 or close to 5 people slotting to submit so you aren't paying for copies no one wants yourself BUT there is a work around by moving the cw to your cw shop where you can then individually sell and not worry about needing to have enough people to slot in chunks of 5.

Basically, the cheapest way is to get a cw first on site with the help of other slotters and then you have options - either keep slotting in chunks of 5 slotters at a time or move your cw into your cw shop and not worry about having enough people to slot because you can sell them individually. The chunks of 5 slotters works the best if your cw is popular and has a lot of people slotting then it is far easier to submit with 5 people's names at a time.

One more question! Are people more likely to pay for slots if the item is a limited release of 10? Or are they just as likely to pay for slots of unlimited wigs?

people are definitely more likely to pay if it is a limited release rather than unlimited

there's also the difference between unlimited copies and unlimited in time - if you aren't sure how popular it will be, a good thing is to make it unlimited copies but for a capped period of time like 24 or 48 hours (roughly, doesn't have to be super exact but it needs to be roughly that or else that's inadvertently lying and scamming people ;3; ) (the time limit also refers to slotting time, not necessarily time to pay unless you already have the cw on site then you can stick it in your shop - how I like to do it is get people to pre-slot on the first batch to get it on site, then send it to my cw shop making sure it's unlocked then ping my cw group and set a time limit, take it out of the shop after)

some releasers also submit a cw unlimited but release a limited amount

I think the number doesn't necessarily matter as much as the time; so if you leave a lot of copies in your shop lying around, that gets treated as unlimited in a way, because people aren't too bothered to buy it from your shop because there are a lot of copies left; setting a time limit and then either retiring temporarily or permanently is a good idea

Thank you! I like the idea of the haircut being a recurring limited item like e.g. only available for the duration of May each year, so that means after May ends people will have to wait for the May of next year to get it again :)

Do you also happen to know if I should submit it submit it to the hat category? I couldn't find a wig category and hat seemed to me like the logical choice, but I'm not sure if it's the right category for it.
