Hi! I'm new to making custom wearables, so I wanted to get some feedback on my first attempt before trying to get it on site. I also can't afford to get it on site at the moment, so I want to make sure people will actually buy it. Here it is:

Condemned Vessel's Guise
"It matters not how far you run, nor how hard you fight. You cannot defy your fate."(It's an FE13 tribute item, hence the weird description)
I'd appreciate any feedback and advice for any issues that I might need to fix!

I can't help with the art part of your question, but with the slotting part I can.
Once you take slots on your item, and you submit it, you assign the slots to the users that requested one. You assign them a slot and put in the slot price, they will get a payment ping, and those funds go towards the price of the submission. Depending on what you charge for each slot, the batch may be fully funded, or you may need to slot yourself with a lower/higher csc amount to make up the difference of the submission costs. ex: You slot 4 people, plus one for yourself, and say you slot at 700csc, the submission price for this item will 2500csc, with the 4 people slotted, it will cover the cost of the submission for you. However say you only slot 3 people plus yourself, you would need to make up the difference by slotting yourself at 400csc to make up the 2500csc submission cost. I hope that helps. And welcome to the cw world!
That does help, thank you!

Hello! I think this item is super cute! The shape of it is really unique and interesting, and the colors are very nice~ <3 My one hang up with it is due to the shading I believe. It might just be me, but something about it gives it the appearance of being of a more vinyl material as opposed to some type of cloth, which I assume is what you were going for? It looks a little flat in areas, and the highlights make it look sort of smooth/almost slick if that makes sense? Shading fabric is still something I've yet to get the hang of myself, so I don't know that I can offer much help in that department :( but that's the impression that I got from looking at the overlay. Maybe try looking and comparing the shading on your item to others on site, (both cws and official site items) to see what's different?
Thank you! It is meant to be cloth, not vinyl. Shading in general is not one of my strengths, and shading clothing specifically is even worse. I'll use your idea and try using some other items as references.

You're welcome! I hear you, I definitely still struggle with shading myself. x_x Feel free to ping me if you post here with an updated preview again, if you want to!
I'll be sure to let you know! ...Though I might not update it for a couple of days. I need to study for my chem exam ._.'

Haha, then I'll look forward to seeing it whenever you do! Good luck on your exam, though!! :0
hi there! This looks really good! x3 Shading wise, did you originally shade in that color or was it paler?
I find that the darker the color palette, the harder it is to get the texture right. I usually start with a cream/hazelnut color and then darken it once it is over. It helps to see where the fabric looks more 'vinyl-y' and whatnot!
For fabric, I tend to add a crosshatch texture over and set it to multiply 20%ish, that way it gets rid of the too-smooth aspect!
As for the CI, the mannequin's face should have a bit more shadows, if not the contour of the face features than atleast the face itself :)
Overall i'd pretty much good to go, I'd definitely slot on it if you release publicly n_n
Thank you! I'll have to try that coloring trick out. And I'll definitely be using that crosshatch idea. At this point I want to try a different CI altogether (I have the idea for it, but I haven't drawn it yet and don't know if it'd look any good so small), but if that doesn't pan out I'll give the mannequin's face some more shading.
And yeah, it's going to be a public release. Would you like me to ping you once I start taking slots for this? Fair warning, it probably won't be ready for release for at least a couple of days--possibly more than a week--depending on how much school eats up my time this week.

ooh take all the time you need! (Goodluck with school!)
My best advice for CIs is to simplify it as much as possible. Since it is resized to 64x64, which is quite frankly too darn tiny, any detailed shading will end up being squished up later on. The shape itself can be more intricate but the shading doesnt - it will usually resize smoother and look more consistent :)
I still haven't updated the CI, but I have updated the CW!

Ahh, this is a huge improvement imo! Looking good!! <3 I really like the thicker gold trim, it makes it pop a lot more! :) My advice for if you're making more revisions would be to push the shadows! Make them darker in the places that would be getting less light, and in the deep wrinkles to give it all a bit more dimension.
