Hi Subeta forums, I'm Uadjet. I joined a few days ago and have spent a really enjoyable couple of days exploring. I'm having a great time here so far, and even ended up getting a new look for my Serpenth thanks to her and I both being very curious and just a little bit foolish. I was a bit scared at first when she disappeared but she came back all shiney (and I do mean eye). I brought a friend to hang with and today we discovered the glade and filled many bottles with the shimmery waters. Probably too many, but we'll stick some tattered labels on them and add them to our dark apothecary shelf. Fall was a lot faster than I and she now has herself a weird, buck-toothed camel. It looks pretty mental, if you catch my drift. I think she's going to wait it out for a few days to see if it changes back, I'm going to look at her new pet and giggle. Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hi. Hope everyone is having a fun day.

Hi , thank you for the welcome. :) Hi , thank you too for the welcome and the links. I'm already a huge fan of Subeta just from my few days here. I don't feel like I need to hoard monies or pets, or that I'll miss out on anything because I haven't been here for years. I love the artwork, the lore, the tongue in-cheek descriptions, and the kindness I've experienced in just a few days. And one of my favorite experiences here so far has been not seeing eye-rolling markups on main shop items in user shops. I really like that Subeta doesn't have the feel of greed so many other places generate. This is the kind of place that will have me spending real money out of loyalty. Haha, sometimes things still have a mark up, especially if it's higher rarity or a new release. A lot of people on the Advertising forums are happy to give a discount from the shop search if you're ever looking for something :)

From personal experience, I think in part the fact Subeta has a 1 account per player rule, it helps make sure people aren't creating mischief via new accounts or side accounts to create a toxic environment.

Oh for sure, , I expect to see some markup. But here I've seen cheaper prices than the NPC shop for some items, something pretty rare for my experience. Yeah, I've seen how multiple accounts can ruin gameplay and I don't have much respect for people who abuse systems like that. Speaking of, thanks for that reminder, I do need to get a hold of someone adminny or send a note in to someone so they know and I are housemates. We are each on our own computers, but the we share internet. I don't think that would cause a problem but I'd like to make sure.

Depending on what other site you are comparing with, there are a few different things about rarities on Subeta, example I think Neopets rarely brings an item out of retirement once it's marked as retired. Whereas on Subeta, an item may be released annually during a specific Holiday, and outside of said holiday, it is marked as 'retired', but it will come back next year, so in that sense the mark ups are not significant because the item has large potential to come back, so you don't often get people trying to inflate them by buying up most of the copies. Not to say it doesn't happen, but it's a lot more rare and probably a lot more risky

I'll do that right after this . I did see a lot of markup in Neopets when I played there. Recently it was Marapets where almost everything had a massive markup. 165 in NPC shop, 9k in player shops. So far I haven't felt the need to let a quest time out because I didn't want to pay the player price, especially when the reward might be a tenth of that amount. On MP, I'd let a quest die about half the time for that reason. I won't be surprised to see a huge markup, but I do like that it's more rare.

Ah, I tried Mara when it started didn't get into it so I'm not super clear about the differences, but over here unless an item is brand spankin' new, generally speaking quests are an easy source of income here, generally speaking you will make a profit on quests. There are some quests such as Quentin where it's a bit more luck-based, he drops an item worth around 350-400k, but it's luck whether you get it or not. I would say roughly it's a one in 5 chance, but that's not an official stat or anything, just personal experience, but sometimes you have days where you get nothing, and days when you are more lucky.

Are those the mage amulets? I've been incredibly lucky if that's the case, another very rare thing for me, haha.

that weird camel-thing is a Common Experiment . your friend will need to zap or potion her pet to change it again. There is only one container you can fill that will turn your pet into something other than that, the Ornate floral pitcher (If you like the Glade pets https://www.subetalodge.org/pets/color/Glade I have a spare kicking around in somebody's TC. Just ask)

Hi , thanks for explaining that. I tried a different bottle today and got the Experiment, so I lured her into the rift to see what happens to Experimental pets. Then I checked the Subapedia and laughed at myself. :D I love the glade pattern, it's probably my favorite. The pets seem so happy in their springtime looks and they are so cute! I was hoping the glade waters would be how to make one. I've been saving in hopes of finding a potion but knowing there's another way is really neat. Thank you for being so kind. I don't have anything that could match the value of the Ornate floral pitcher. I would love one, but I worry that I would be taking advantage by asking.

Not to worry. I snag them from the token shop whenever they show up there, just to have cool things to give away. Vesnali is coming up soon, so I expect we'll have another restock of 'em in the next month or so.

Yes a mage amulet! There is another luck factor with them, they have a chance to turn into a tome which is a stat booster for battlers. I personally prefer to turn in a few at a time to try get a tome, otherwise I always feel like I'm getting shards (garbage) back xD

Is it only stocked during the site holidays? When you showed me the pitcher I raced in and waited, until Mr. Chetwood chased me out. I'm excited for Vesnali. The idea of being able to just randomly find and give flowers is just cute. Thank you again too! hugs I hope that's okay.

Hi , thank you for the welcome. Your HA is lovely. I recommend bacon, because I just do. But you could use it to build a bridge over the syrup in your tropical fruit to drive those weird cherries into the center volcano and sacrifice them! Also, bacon is just good.

Over here there is a stat cap.I f you are impatient and willing to invest a lot of sP into your pet, you can use tomes at any given time, but I would say when your pet is higher in stats, the training times get longer and longer, so you can only train maybe once or twice a day, so boosters become a lot more viable as an option.

From personal experience I have found tomes harder to sell compared with the amulets, unless you offer a discount for the tomes. So if you just want the sP for now to enjoy your site play, such as getting your pets how you want them, or dressing up your avatar a certain way, I wouldn't be as invested in the stat boosters.

If you think battling is something you would be into, it's much more complicated so you're better off reading up info from the Battle forums, rather than getting an inaccurate summary from me :P

So far it's been pretty bad for my pet, haha. I'm training her, but more for jobs than battling. I am grateful for you taking the time to offer information, and I will check the appropriate forums if I decide that's the path for one of my pets. For now though, I'm definitely going to sell the amulets so I can enjoy my site play. Thankies!

In my personal opinion, it is worth training your pet a bit, as it takes a bit of time via the training centre and it's not so expensive to avoid doing it. Later down the line if you want to get invested in it, you can find out more.

But I think when you first start on a site like Subeta, you want to have fun buying things you like and getting pretty things :P

Sometimes there are site events which awards extra prizes for battling, so even having a small amount of stats can be helpful c:
