While this addition has been great for book collector's I think it is a high time the book was retired and introduce newer books for different Subeautique clothing designers. It would be really cool to see what type of designs they come up with for their own "secret journals."

I don't want it retired, but I would like more design journals.

This might be better for Suggestions, and there's already a recent topic about this.

I don't think it or any prospective future Journal should be retired. Instead they should cut a deal with Saggitarius for putting in his Quest Shop, or show up in the Millionaire Center.

Right now it gives users who get a Subeautique Invite via the Bathhouse Pools but otherwise don't want to mess with the whole Subeautique game something that they can guaranteed spend their invitation on and get at least a little profit without having to stalk NPC Esmerelda's place. This is because it's a book. Other items can lose value because of those of us who do do this game, we only need to own one of any particular piece of clothing.

The only reason why I felt it should have been retired from that shop is because it has been in the shop for nearly 12 years and coming back nearly a year ago after being gone for 6-7 plus years. I was quite surprised in seeing it still in the restocking pool.

While it is true a person solely only needs, theres many more means to restocking just one piece of clothing from the shop. Restocking more to resell later on when the eventual retirement does occur. Which if this were to retire it could potential get put into the item pool for the gifts of fashion past chance machine, like all chance machines theres not just wearables but differentiating items. Like stickers, minions, plushies, etc. Which I wouldn't mind it being in that particularly.

@ Lethargic If we're eventually going to get more fashion journals, we could have a category for the fashion journals like we do for various SBQ makeup sets.

I don't quite see the point of retiring it and putting it in the GOFP bag. It's not a wearable, so it won't exactly be a popular item to get. [edit]Edit because I'm a dumb who doesn't keep immaculate track of fashion stuff: the GOFP is a CS vending machine, not a chance bag.

Right but not all chance bags should have "popular items" it really wouldn't be truly a chance bag if you're always guaranteed a wearable that would sell well. There has to be something making a chance bag risky or it really wouldn't be much of a chance.

@ Lethargic But that... already happens. :X Not all SBQ items are equally popular. vs

Wearables and books can't really be compared, imo. I can always remove the wearables from my wardrobe and sell them when I don't need them any more. :P But I can't make my pet un-read a book. Once a book is read, it's gone, and because of battling and AP/scrolls, books are in constant demand.

That's why I don't want the book retired. It's already at a nice price, and if there are other fashion journals added, having them all permanently available in a separate SBQ category for a fee would make a great sP sink without impacting any SBQ wearable restocks. Versus putting it in the GOFP, making it barely available, obtainable by CSC only and making supply very limited. afaik the pool of GOFP items is much bigger than the current SBQ restocking pool (it includes SBQ and Vanity items, someone correct me if I'm wrong), so it would still be a lot more limited if you're aiming for the book and not for the wearables.

To explain my dumb, half asleep "it won't be as popular" reasoning up there in my last post: most people who use the GOFP are into wearables so getting a book is gonna be a little underwhelming. I can't really see battlers using the machine just to get the book, but the book is gonna be sought after because battling and AP.

I would hate to see the Journal retired for any reason for all the reasons Frost listed. I could see an argument for moving it to the bookstore at R99 or having it as a rare game prize drop for something, or even putting it in the Millionaire Center, but I don't want it taken out of circulation.

I'd definitely love to see more journals as well, I think it could be really fun and thematic (as well as some really neat TC fodder for some pets).

Edit: Food for thought, what about a separate section for Fashion Journals similar to the always-present SubQ Makeup section that's there now?
